I just watched a great German movie called Bandits. It has a similar plot to O Brother, Where Art Thou? It's about a group of female escaped convicts who are on the run and manage to become a famous band with hit songs while at it. It came out before O Brother, so I have to wonder if Ethan and Joel were referencing (homagin) this film in O Brother. It's a beautifully shot movie, with some nice songs. I'm not sure how I feel about the ending, but I don't want to reveal anything. It's quite funny, too. I suggest watching it.
