Ok, let's talk Al Pacinoisms...there's Scent Of A Woman, of course("Turn the plane around, we're goin' back to Chigago","There's something about a woman's breast's", the courtroom scene),Devil's Advocate("He's an absentee LANDLORD!"),Heat("There's something about a woman's ass that get's me goin'..a GREAT ASS!"),Godfather 3("Just when I try to get out, they PULL ME BACK IN!")and many more 'Pacino-on-autopilot' rants, including City Hall, et.al...He did'nt go too crazy in the first two Godfathers', and I won't count Scarface because, well, he's just Scarface, what do you expect? But those control-freak-'I'm-the-daddy!' scenes are hilarious!Any more suggestions?

HULA!

I'm going to get laughed at for sayign this, but I saw Gigli about a week ago (and yes it is bad, but not the worst movie ever), and he's got a pretty cool monologue toward the end of that movie

Really? He probably just stands out next to Jenny and Benny from the block!
Oh, that reminds me.."I'm Benny from the Bronx!"(John Leguisimo, actually, from Pacino's 'Carlito's Way').

I keep editing little spelling mistakes and things!(NERD!)

yes, he does stand out, even though I got the impression based on his performance in other movies that he wasn't even trying in Gigli

Usually he's horrible-- an emoting overactor if ever there was one. "Scent of a Woman" was one of the worst movies I've ever seen (at least until I walked out after 1½ hours).

He's a great actor...but he just goes into cruise(not Tom!)mode, sometimes. He rants a bit in Serpico, but his performance in that is terrific...like in all his great movies.

Best title for a topic ever. Sorry, Glacial. Can "Little Stars and Avatars" at least be a close second?

What's wierd is that he must've picked up the overemoting shtick at some point, and then decided that it was his tried and true method, and stuck with it ever since. I remember in the Godfather movies and some of his other older work he was alot calmer.

Yeah, IceCream, I guess that's okay. I've recovered now. No more crying. There will be other chances, other opportunities to post well-titled topics, and if I get started now I might be able to make a comeback.

Take me, break me, tell me a good one and maybe I'll cry

He has a very good, understated "calm" performance in "Glenngarry Glen Ross", which is an excellent film.

i love his over the top performance in "dick tracy" everything else he's done since "dog day afternoon" and "godfather 2" has been too over the top for me
