Check out this Pedal Guitar that I saw on ebay....don't know how common they are but it looks a lot like the one that was used on the cover of SMYT.

I have one. You can buy them in any Chinatown area in the US - or I would assume, in China.

Gilbert had a Sho-Bud pedal steel but I think it was one of the ones that was stolen. He probably got another one.
