I do hope the pixies reunion tour won't mark the end of the Catholics. The gigs I saw on the recent tour were some of the best ever and as good, if not better than, the Pixies at the Town & Country Club (especially Brussels). If Frank IS reforming the Pixies (and we still haven't had a proper confirmation have we)he should keep it short and sweet.
I need peace... turned up so loud

Okay, this topic almost gave me a heart attack. Don't DO that!!
I don't think the Pixies reunion tour will mean the end to the Catholics. I think it is really just part of Frank's evolution and maybe it will inspire him to start great new other things. I think he has a really fun time with the Catholics and maybe the Pixies reunion will just reinforce that.
I am trying to look on the bright side.

Even brighter side : he obviously needs money, so he will do a couple of gigs with the Pixies, then return to our beloved Catholics.

The Catholics obviously get along really well and have established a good groove and a good chemistry between them. I doubt that band's coming to an end anytime soon. |

I think Frank has proven over and over that he can write enough material for the Catholics and I certainly believe he can write new stuff for the Pixies as well.Just let the man enjoy himself with this reunion and show to the countless imitators how to play Pixie Style along with Kim,Joey and David.I'm also sure The Breeders and The Martinis will also go on!!! Que Vivan Los Pixies y Los Catolicos!!! |

Pixies should only do FB-covers on that reunion-consert. Should be interesting to notice the audience's reaction. And will people shout for FB-songs if they only do Pixies-songs...

K, the Pixies covering an FB song would be all sorts of awesome. It'd also be awesome to have Frank do a low version of Kelly's parts on some of the Breeders stuff.

I hope the Catholics last, and I'm sure they will. I don't want a new Pixies album, that would be lame as hell. Leave the Pixies in the past and give us some new Catholics stuff, man.

There should be a pixies family tour. Lovering can open w/ the magic show, then the Martinis, then FB&Cs (before the breeders to give the ol' voice a chance to rest), then the Breeders, then the Pixies as the grand finale. They'd rake it in hand over effin' fist; like printing their own money. |

They should have a special guest star. Britney Spears, or Michael Jackson?

I always thought "Cult of Ray" is one of the best-fitting songs for the Pixies...imagine D.Lovering on the drums ! |

I guess it is possible that the Catholics become a Crazy Horse type band. Neil Young has worked with them since the early 70's whilst releasing solo albums, joining Crosby Stills & Nash and collaborating with Pearl Jam.
If FB remains committed to releasing music (and I sincerely hope he does) then he may choose to work with the Pixies, the Catholics, release solo stuff and maybe collaborate with others. I think this would keep his output fresh and keep us all guessing for years to come.
