I have noticed recently in other sections of the forum that people have been commenting on others' own recordings and offering technical suggestions for improvement. I, as a wannabe N-Track one-man outfit, would absolutely relish an entire section dedicated to helping the home recording newbies on the site. It would fit nicely perhaps as a co-subject with the "Tabs" or its own subject under the "General" section. Maybe not. Anyway, holler if you like the idea and maybe Dave will consider implementation.

well we could have a more informal way of doing it, say like through a post on the board where people contribute their tips to recording success.

No thanks. We don't need another niche section. You can post that under General Chat.

I'm more friendly, but i agree with Jim. =)
If it gets out of hand, then we'll make a section, but for now there's plenty of recording message boards and email lists..

Go to www.tapeop.com, subscribe for free to the magazine, and use their board for your recording needs. I'm sure it will be a better resource for recording than this here page, as it is dedicated to recording, and all the people there are really nice, unlike Ebb Vicious (the fucker). www.homerecording.com is the best resource, in my opinion. I've spent many hours there when I was big into recording.

I am off to try 'em out. I actually made this suggestion partly because my experience on most boards is that ppl are generally impatient with my likes. I have lots of questions and am a "special needs" student. And you know how it is (I think). It's like some no account tech support guy can spend 45 minutes on the phone with my mom trying to explain how encode and normalize an MP3 from a retail CD, or I can take her by the hand for 2 1/2 minutes and show her. It's lots easier that way, for both parties. But thanks for your help anyway. And at the kind suggestion of El Barto, I have posted my very own topic in "General Discussion" in case anyone feels philanthropic:
