I just ordered the CD soundtrack to Mark Ryden's "BLOOD" gallery show - this is my first Stan Ridgway fare, so I'm in a state of happy worry as to how I will like it. Has anyone else ever ordered form cdbaby? I got the most hilarious confirmation email (after the automated response), and I was inspired by the "haints" to share it with y'all:

"Jennifer -

Thanks for your order with CD Baby!

Your CD has been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with
sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow.

A team of 50 employees inspected your CD and polished it to make sure
it was in the best possible condition before mailing.

Our packing specialist from Japan lit a candle and a hush fell over
the crowd as he put your CD into the finest gold-lined box that money
can buy.

We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party
marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of
Portland waved 'Bon Voyage!' to your package, on its way to you, in
our private CD Baby jet on this day, Monday, January 5th.

I hope you had a wonderful time shopping at CD Baby. We sure did.
Your picture is on our wall as 'Customer of the Year'. We're all
exhausted but can't wait for you to come back to CDBABY.COM!!

Thank you once again,

Derek Sivers, president, CD Baby
the little CD store with the best new independent music"

Nice to see independent stores out there that put a little extra "oomph" into their customer service - hahahah! The artwork in the cd alone is worth the purchase price to me, though my favorite group of Ryden's work is "Bunnies and Bees".

If you want to see what this guy does, you can view a bunch of his paintings here http://www.markryden.com/paintings/index.html
Does anybody get into Stan Ridgway or Mark Ryden?

So, no Stan Ridgway or Mark Ryden fans here then? Waddaya think of Ryden's artwork? His older brother is KRK Ryden - some of you comics and DEVO, or maybe even Residents fans out there might be familiar with him?
