Today's random song of the day is Stupid Me.
What do you think of it?
lyrics Stupid me I deserve it now I''m standing here all alone Stupid me I''m reserving all my thoughts just for her Now she''s gone
She gave me her whole heart And I threw it away I''d practice a black art If I thought she''d come back for just one day oh
Stupid me I''m reserving all my thoughts just for her Now she''s gone
I don''t know what became of She but I''ll pray She’ll find true love Oh why did I send her away? Oh why did I send? Oh why did I send her away?
Stupid me I''m reserving now I''m standing here all alone Stupid me

I haven't listened to this song in such a long, long while ..I've forgotten how it goes.
The only song on DiTS that I skip.

Incredible song. Just incredible. Must be taken with a grain of an ironic grin and I appreciate it in a similar vein to La La Love You. I always sing along. It is penultimate to the sacharine top hits of the 50s, a little Doo Wop, a little Buddy Holly, a little Frank Black of the olden days of his rockingness, and I love it. What great vocals. What a great tune.

Unless you play this song on an instrument, you probably wouldn't even suspect that the key goes up a 1/2 step near the end. Another piece of subtly brilliant songwriting by Frank.

Not my favorite tune, but still solid. I don't skip it. I like the steel guitar and piano in this one. |

I wouldn't say that I don't like it....just that its nothing special in the context of the album (for me anyway). I skip it sometimes. So many of Frank's songs have moments that curl my toes....and this one is kind of bland by that standard. But its pretty and I like to sing along some of the time. But I'd rather sing along to Thallasocracy or Czar or something. |

Jessie! Sacrelige! I love this song. Love it. I'm a sucker for 50s music, and this scratches me right where I itch. Any of you cats out there looking for some good new 50s style music should check out Paul Simon's album "Songs for the Capeman". Tasty stuff. It's actually a musical he wrote about the famous "Capeman" from the early 50s in New York. It mixes latin flavour with doo-wop to create a really unique, yet familiar sound.
But anyway, I love Stupid Me. And so forth. |

This song is straight out of the 50s, and I love it. One of the best tracks on the album, bar none. The lyrics are simple and brilliant.

I am ambivilant about this song. It's not my favorite but I appreciate it as part of the bigger whole that is DITS, one of my most favorite by Frank. |

I like it when Frank goes into a quick falsetto. I can sing the in-and-out falsetto of this one alright, but not "Living on Soul" which is too hard for me.
He's got an athletic voice. |

I like it. I dislike falsetto voce usually, but I don't mind this tune. I usually cringe at steel guitar, but it's alright here. |

I don't like this song so much... even if I try to listen to it with humor, I can't stand it. I often skip it like you, brackish girl... |

I saw him perform this song on the DITS tour and his singing was fantastic. I really love this tune, not least because it has a frisky-fying effect on my girlfriend. |
