It feels good to be back on the forum again!

Recently I have rediscovered The Cure, probably due to a few Cure topics which have been floating around recently. This morning I was listening to Wish, and played the song From the edge of the deep green sea, which is one of my all time favorite songs. Does anyone know anything about this song?? There is a lyric that goes:

'Just as I'm breaking free
she hangs herself in front of me
slips her dress like a flag to the floor
hands in the sky
surrenders it all.'

I'd be interested to know if anyone knows a story behind this song as it is one of their best in my opinion.

Here's looking forward to the new year when The Cure release their 4cd B-sides and Rarities collection. The Cure are class!

The Cure rocks. I love "100 Years". Love it love it love it. Pornography is a great album. I'm not quite sure about the origins of that song, though...sorry.

It seems that every White Stripes song sounds like a song that came before it. I mean, Fell In Love With A Girl, come on! The main hook sounds like Middle of the Road by The Pretenders. And I hear Zeppelin in their songs too much. The White Stripes are ripping off a band that ripped off other bands. How many Zep songs sounded like Howlin' Wolf or Willie Dixon or Spirit? Too goddamn many! Sure, Dylan was often ripping off Guthrie, but he openly acknowledged this. Page tried to say every bit of the music was his, except for the few that were so goddamn close that he had to credit them to others, and even then, he often didn't. Or he justs blames Plant for singing too many of the original lyrics or adhering too closely to the original melody. Sure, lots of music comes from stuff that was released before it, but Zeppelin gets too much credit for how much they ganked, and the White Stripes get mad props for jack shit as well. Go to hell, Zep and Stripes!

Alcohol or pot? VHS or Beta? Man or Astro-man?
