Today's random song of the day is Do You Feel Bad About It?.
What do you think of it?
lyrics
Let me tell you what I would do I''d consider the possibility of a mistake Yeah, if I were you I would give me a break
Do you feel bad about it? Do you feel sad about it? Do you feel sick about it This parting of the ways?
I don''t want to chat about it I want to scream and shout about it ''Cause I ain''t had it about this This parting of the ways
Well, I served you up all my affection But that didn''t work out so great And I''d help you with your defection But I still think I''m your best fate
Well, I never will be ashamed Of begging you-begging you For More Of the same

Simple lyrics, but they ring very true. Not my favourite track, but it's a good one nonetheless.

You know, sometimes simple straightforward lyrics that REALLY say what you're trying to say and still sound cool are the hardest to come up with. Sometimes it's harder than coming up with bizarre phrases and highly flowery imagery because that stuff can stand on the weirdness alone.
Straightforward stuff has to be held up by their truth. And if there is no truth they don't stand up.
That being the case, I give this song a rousing "yes" |

I blanket disagree with everything you've said. :)
Actually, very true. It's very hard to be straight up without being cliched or sounding corny or insincere or like you're trying to produce a pop song.
It does ring true, it seems very sincere, and I'm sure we've probably all been there at some point.

I like to look at it as the first thought he (the song character) had after well, fucking up supremely and the girlfriend was leaving.
Uh, wait a sec, let's consider the possibility of a mistake
then desperation (even in the way the line is delivered I would...gimme a break
And he's not going to let it go or give it up that easy I wanna scream and shout about it....
cmon let's fight anything but just don't leave I'm begging you begging you for more
Yeah...I've been there. Nice little song. Not an epic, but they all don't have to be. Remember, this man can write this and Masif Centrale. |

taking out all the straight-forwardness and considering "you" being the pixies, it is the rocking version of "stupid me"...
but that is the good thing about frank's songs, you can see a lot of different meanings in them, no matter if they are really there. i like this because it gives my mind something to play with |

Good tune. I also dont mind the straight-forward nature of the lyrics.
This song always felt like part 1 of 3 with Sufferin' being the 2nd part of a breakup trilogy. Just dont know what part 3 would be... |

. . .
This is my theory about the lyrics of this song
Some think this song is about frank lamenting over Kim Deal's bass playing.
I think not.
It might be about frank lamenting over LYLE'S DEPARTURE. I bet lyle told frank he was moving on before the album was complete, and frank wrote a song about it. |

so you're conceding that you are. How unusually mature for you. I applaud your steps toward moving out of your parents guest bedroom and finding a real job

you are such a tough guy swimmer.
my personal theory: people who act all tough-guy online (like Swimmer) must be total cowards in real life.
seriously, can this whole thing be anything other than overcompensating for a general lack (of: guts, respect, a life).. ?
would swimmer talk this way to someone in real life?
you sort of expect this behavior from 14 year olds.. but 30 year old men? |

Floop, you have no idea what you are talking about. Do you think your statement about "he would never be this way in real life."
Floop, buddy, I am not a bullshitter. I don't lie, and I don't have a "different on line persona"
I don't have any patience for your bullshit. That's the way it is. That's the way it's going to be. I get much pleasure from calling out little fucking pricks like yourself who have big mouths and a false idea of their "place" in the world.
I hate making this public and dragging down everyone else but if you want to continue the conversation in private on why you need to cease your fucking bullshit , I would welcome that. Email me anytime, you pussy.
You like to continue though. You are a little whiny baby bitch. You want to make your cracks and then RUN AWAY. Well fuck you. I don't play that game.
You are a fuck head, you are a prick and I don't care if I am 30 pr 60 or 90 you will always be a little bitch. |
