Hi
Does someone know if the following events have ever happened before ?
During Paris show : - FB and the C's played a slow version of Nimrod's son
- FB came back after the encore to sing a "voice only" version of Brackish boy.
Thanks
Etienne

I know when I saw them the first half of Nimrod was fast and the second half was slow, something I've heard on a few recorded shows too. I really like it that way, the pace change just feels great to me. As far as the Brackish Boy bit, I don't know. That's the first time I've heard of it.

ok no one really responded to my pixies songs in fb shows related thread. But Nimrod's Son is indeed slow all way through the song. It used to be one fast half and one slow (which incredibly cool!!), the new version just doesn't work as well, I'm not saying it sucks, but the fast/slow version is better

i own a good quality pixies-bootleg mc (surfer rosa-era), and there is a very slow nimrod's son on it. first part is normal, but then it slows down. it sounds very strange, but is really smashing and impressive. the low tempo fits much better to the screaming, i think. altough i do not like 666 very much on the record, i was blown away by the electrified, slowed-down, screaming version he perforemed at the concerts. |

they played the slow-slow version of nimrods son last night in London. It was pretty fab. we weren't lucky enough, however, to get brackish boy. |

ok, cool, would love to compare the pixies fast/slow version with the catholics fast/slow version.
You could do that, the fast/slow version of the catholics is under 'Lowlands Festival' in the FTP section
