no shit man
it's worse here in Virginia
I always dream of the bars where they call last call at 3:55am, put breakfast on your table, and start serving again at 4:01.
How about those dry countys in the deep south? There are no bars? I can't go to Pizza hut and get a glass pitcher of Bud? WTF is that bullshit? You can't buy beer here on Sunday in the county before noon. Fuck you. And you can't buy a keg of beer in Utah? Fuck that. |

peacefull riot is a good answer to such stupid laws.in greece they once actually tried to shut down clubs\pubs at 2am.the people's response was to go and have street parties on the parlament square until morning.they took back that stupid law after a month.these were the days.i remember going to one of those parties after an iggy pop concert.it was even better that going to a pub.

My bar never closes, it's called my fridge. For the cost of one night out, It's stocked for almost a month.

In Nevada the bars never close, and they've got the smoking, alcoholism, and suicide rates to prove it. Nevada, a state of mind. |

Tony, a Mack Daddy like yourself should be out of the bar way before closing time with a babe on each side. What are you thinking?
When I lived in Gulfport, Miss., back in the late 80's, the bars were allowed to stay open for 24 hours. Only a few chose to do this and they were usually the ones that never had a pretty face in it no matter what time of day it was. We had too many of those way to drunk morning afters. Alot of scary moments of wondering how the fuck we drove from point A to point B. We named one of our cars "The Ghost" 'cause that's who must have been driving it.

We have the same law in NY, but it's easy to get around. Just buy your Sunday beer on Saurday. Your're invited to my house for 9am brew next Sunday. Don't let the man get you down.

yes, when you go to a bar in holland at ten in the evening, don't be surprised it's empty. Night life ussually starts at eleven and ends at 5 in the morning. (not for me though)

floop, don't complain too much. Every time my wife and I go to the east coast (usually PA or Maryland) we have to adapt to the fact that you can't buy beer in 7-Elevens or supermarkets. How crappy is that? We really take things for granted here in California. |

BLT - i feel your pain. i lived in Baltimore for 4 months this year. it took me about a week to figure out that i couldn't buy beer at supermarkets or even 7-Elevens. (not even 7-Elevens fer chrisskaes!)
i walked around aimlessly at Trader Joe's looking for beer.. and finally asked someone working there. "uh, we can't sell alcohol at supermarkets in the state of MD".. then later in the week i went to 7-Eleven, figuring i they would definitely have beer.. no go.
and on top of all this, liquor stores close at like 9pm.
you really have to plan ahead there. |

We wound up in Wellsboro PA a few years ago. We couldn't find a drink anywhere and then realized it was Election Day-- not a statewide election, just some local crap. We had to wait until the polls closed and wound up getting a 6-pack "to go" from the restaurant where we had dinner. I guess it's a normal thing to get beer to go at bars and restaurants there. Damn those Quaker puritans! |
