so what sort of coffee does she get? i picture her more of a straight up coffee or cappuccino person.. she doesn't get lattes does she? lattes have to be the most pointless coffee drinks in history. can i please pay $4 for a tiny shot of espresso and a bunch of milk? |

she got a mocha frappucino with 2 shots of espresso no whip cream..PLUS she was reading the sports page in line. shes so hardcore. and actually cappucinos are the most pointless..atleast the lattes have milk..cappucinos-espresso+2inchesmilk+foam..now thats a retards coffee.

lattes are for people who have no clue about coffee. you can't even taste the coffee with all that milk. with a cappuccino you get to actually taste your coffee. if you want milk why not just go drink a glass of milk.
by your rationale, getting a plain espresso is even more pointless right? because then you don't get any milk and all you have is coffee.
god forbid you should just want coffee. |

well it's because cappucino is meant to be a breakfast coffee.light and with a dose of milk to accompany your croissant(or cornetto in italian).tourists and non italians in general drink cappucinos at all hours so if one day you visit italy don't be surprised if locals laugh at you when you order a cappucino at 7 pm.actually in many woody allen fims there are people having cappucinos at some pseudo intelectual coffee shop and it's a detail that everybody notices here. as long as the espresso is concerned you must get the mentality behind it.it's just a shot because in italy people don't use to stay in a coffee shop for more than 10min.they just have a short coffee smoke a cigarette and leave.on the other hand they have 4-5 espressos or mokas a day and of course they don't cost 4$ but 80cents.

i don't know why people would complain that a cappuccino is too light. it's definitely more strong than a latte. lattes are practically all milk. but, i digress.
and yes, we're not in Italy, unfortuately. i wish i was in Italy. they have the best coffee there ever. not to mention the chocolate. now that's good shit. (hot chocolate like you've never had before. soooo thick!)
i used to work at coffee shops so i feel your pain pinkashtray. people used to order the stupidest drinks. like, half caf (caffene) half regular.. or half soy, half skim milk latte.
or, half goats milk, half soy de-caff latte (i kid you not). it's like, fucking get a life. how about just getting a coffee?
also, the idea of getting decaf coffee is crazy to me. it's like non-alcoholic beer. what's the point?
people in LA are the worst about coffee. |

seriously. i can see someone ordering that. i forgot about the foam specifications. everyone had some specific foam request. not too much foam. extra foam. it's like, it's fucking foam. is it going to ruin your latte if you have an extra half centemeter of foam? or, is getting half skim milk and half lofat milk really going to cut that many calories? you're already fat. give it up. nevermind how much more of a pain in the ass it is for the person making it. and people who haven't had their coffee yet in the morning have very little patience.
i remember (i'm probably going to hell for this) we purposly gave this one lady caffinated coffee who requested decaf in her latte. just because she was such a bitch.
hopefully she didn't have a heart condition or anything. then i'd feel kind of bad. |

i totally agree.i didn't want to be rude with americans in particular.people like to look sophisticated by ordering complicated crap.instead of having a beer they ask for some obscure colombian rum, instead of having a coffee they want something they saw in tv and seemed cool to ask.most of the times they cannot even tell the difference.once i was helping a friend with his bar and a guy comes and asks for a cardhu(a rare whiskey).i gave him a plain johny walker and not only he didn't taste the difference,he wanted me to have one too just to demonstate to me how good it was.

I've just been introduced to the concept of 'wet' and 'dry' cappucino. Que? Coffee, milk, etc. all liquid right? The best coffee is ristretto, I've decided. It's just the oil from the coffee beans or something. Mmm, flavour.

Pink, Floop I feel a connection here. Run with it you kids. Ain't love grande latte-1/2 an equal-1/2 a sweetnlow-half soy-half eggnog-easy foam-extra whip cream-extra hot-but not too hot-double cupped-no lid.
While in Crete I had me a bad Frappe trip. Mind you this wasn't the first time I'd had them. Every morning I'd get a Frappe at the base club and it would get me through the day. One day I asked someone that was with me if they wanted one too. She took a sip and desided it wasn't to her liking and asked if I wanted the rest. Boy was that a mistake. During those first weeks in country we where working 12 on 12 off. I was seeing spots trying to get to sleep that night. Awful, awful. Anyway that was the last Frappe and Caffeine I had until I got home.
I agree Tony. No caffeine then what is the use, but I just can't do it all the time anymore. I get de-caff whenever possible.
One of the best things I brought back from Crete was knowing how to make Frappe's. I wish I would have taken home more than a couple of cans of Nescafe. My wife loves that I can make them for her.

Damn it! I thought that I could pronounce everything in the English language, but now I've found out that "new desktop" is something I cannot say. It comes out sounding like "nor diskclup". It reminds me a lot of the coach from Homestarrunner trying to say "job". JOOORRRRRB!!! This "nor diskclup" is something I'll have to work on. Thanks for asking whether I can say it, apl4eris. Who knows how long it would have been before another situation came up where I would have to pronounce it out loud, and then I'd have looked like a fool. |
