I have discovered a band called The Vanishing Spies. I haven't heard their music. But supposedly they play catchy 3 minute ditties and Jack Rabid (from the magazine The Big Takeover) likes them, so they might just be worth checking out. Then again, there's a a lot of other music that I'm a bit more interested in putting my money into purchasing and time into tracking down the material of, like Sigue Sigue Sputnik.
