Fox is staffed by the biggest collective of incompetent dunderheads on the planet, but luckily with ALL THE BLOODY EVIDENCE they're starting to see the light. You know, like a rabid and huge following despite a timetable slot that changed every week. The massive amount of letters - both positive and negative (which, d'uh, implies these people are watching the show) - that came in week after week. The largest ever petition to be served to bring a show back on the air. And now, finally, phenomenal DVD sales.
Yeah, sure, we believe you - the show's unpopular. Fox just wasn't ready for it.

They used to be the king of edgey comedy back when they began...Family Guy fit that formula, although more modern and more edgey, yet they canned it. What do you expect when you put it up against Friends, the show which gets the most ratings every season?

Am I alone in not liking Friends?? I've tried to watch it and 'get it' but seem to have failed to engage. Maybe I'm reacting against the continual hype. Saying that I've always enjoyed shows like Cheers and Frasier.
But then again I happen to think that the X Files was a total yawn.

Futurama was good, but I always compared it to the Simpsons, against which it pales into insignificance. Family Guy is the only cartoon that approaches the Simpsons level of sustained genius, but still doesn't make it. No other show can make me cough up what I'm drinking in laughter, which the Simpsons dis last night.

I'd never betray my Prittstick, which is why I find your last statement ugly. Uhu gets all messy and gross, its not non-sticky sticky stuff, is it?

You're not alone in disliking Friends. It's pretty devoid of redeeming qualities and the fact that it's so popular only confirms that for me.
Choosing to watch Friends over Family Guy is like choosing to read Terry Brooks over J.R.R. Tolkien.

I can't lump The Simpsons and Family Guy together in one category and say one is better than the other. Yes, they're both animated comedy, but the style and execution of the comedy are very different. They're both on very different plains...Family Guy is more unrealistic than The Simpsons in their approach to life (i.e. Stewie and Brian, Death...). While the Simpsons look inhuman, their reality is much closer to ours. I feel like such a dork.

When Friends was so huge at first I didn't mind it so much, I just never really watched it but now that they show reruns every night because somehow it's a "classic" already it's annoying as hell. They used to play like a two hour block of the Simpsons every night now I always end up looking away from the Simpsons for a second and that damn Friends show is on. Makes me wanna spit.

i liked futurama a bit more than family guy. futurama was so goofey and stuff, while family guy depressed me(apart from that episode where stewie falls for a girl who only wants him for his cookies-that was grrreat). but the simpsons will always be the best. that said, why can't we have them all???

I think they're making new episodes of Futurama for Cartoon Network. The DVD's are nice. I hope they come out with season 3!
