i was supposed to get a flu shot today, but now, ironically, i feel like i'm getting the fucking flu.. should i still go? will i die?
i'm going right now. hopefully this won't be my last post. |

Well, it just means you're probably going to get the flu as well. See, these vaccinations are actually reduced potency versions of the illness you're being protected against. A healthy immune system has no trouble developing the antibodies to counter it, and once the antibodies are in your system, you are immune to that specific flu (but they mutate FAST) for life.
However, if you're sick and already fighting something else, you might not be able to fight this weakened flu and so it'll grow and spread and you'll get sick(er).
That's if they even injected you with a flu vaccine at all... I don't trust those bastards.

| once upon a time i got a flu vaccine and then i didnt eat for a week and then i had the flu for 4 weeks after that (i think i got more than one flu cuz they vaccinate u for like 3 at a time) |

There's also the chance that you have what is technically referred to as a super-ultra-happy-immune system in which case, you'll be more than able to fight off two bugs at once.
I stay away from unnecessary shots anyway, who knows what they're putting in you. I've known people who almost never got sick (once every couple of years) and they had a flu shot and now get sick quite easily and more like once every couple months.

i am strong and powerful. but yeah, i do seem to get sick just about every year around this time. i never get the shots either, but everyone at work seemed to think i was foolish for not getting it, so i gave in.
now i'm sick so it doesn't really matter.
i don't think i'll get the shots again though.. it's probably better to just take your chances and then if you get sick, deal with it. then your body's immune system will be that much stronger.
or not. i don't know. i'm not a scientist. |

See, this is why I don't compliment people often, is because it sounds fake, but I was being honest. And if you are ashamed about being so astoundingly intelligent on any number of topics then I have to plead my own lack of understanding as to why that would cause you to hang your head in shame. I guess I'll have to call off that title/coronation I had planned. I can also retract my comment if you'd like or change it to imply that you're a "big-stupid-doo-doo-head".

I actually laughed out loud at this - that felt good! Thank you for the compliment. I was gonna get a title? Really?! Damnit I screwed up yet again...ah well. I felt ashamed because it sounds like everyone thinks I come across as some sorta know-it-all. I can only chalk my apparent "intelligence" up to being able to read and research any topic (aka waste a lot of damn precious time/*Slack* off royally) I get interested in now that I have become a full-time artist - I pretty much do it all the time, to a fault. I get a little obsessive about topics and connections and such, and sometimes I worry that maybe I am a little borderline schizo ;) ...ah screw it, I AM just nuts. Back to the flu. Please. This is seriously uncomfortable  See how much time I've wasted on this darned infernal forum (in only a coupla months!)? how smart can that be? Fer real, yo! |
