Inspired by Hordak's food topic, why don't y'all tell me some good recipes. I love cooking, me, and I'm always looking for new things to try. So can any of you tell me how to make a really good chilli? Any of you Italians want to give me some handy hints, cos I love Italian food. Stuart, give me tips for Chinese.
Remember, this benefits everybody. Also, anyone know how to make the rice and beans that BF used to talk about from Puerto Rico? It has lime and garlic, I think, and sounds gorgeous.

"Mother's little helper" sounds so much better than "homeopathic rescue remedy." Although I have to admit, I was listening to some early Stones the other day, and I suddenly found the notion of Mick Jagger lecturing housewives about drug abuse hi-larious.
OK, now I'm going. Really.

No, man, cooking is the new rock'n'roll! Iron chef, is that like a Black Sabbath tribute? "I am Iron Chef!"

no, iron chef is a GREAT japanese tv show where one of their master chefs (the "iron" chef, each trained in a different style - japanese, chinese, french and italian)takes on a challenger chef - they get a "secret" ingredient and have to make as many dishes as possible as good as possible in 1 hour. its the best tv show in the world

You know, it used to be so much better, before the american media figured out it had such a huge cult following. We used to watch that every time it came on a coupla years ago. I loved the crazy comments, usually by the requisite guest actress "ingenue" - she would take a bite of something that most wouldn't eat if they were paid, like "squid guts a l'orange with sake' biscuit-creme melon bruised crispy noodle supreme with mustard glaze" and say in a creepy breathy little-girl on valium voice: "I feel like I am foating on a dreamy cloud!"
Lots of fun!

OK, here's my favourite recipe. Please don't yell at me, I'm sure it's not very authentic but its well tasty and I love it.
Fry half an onion, chopped, 1 clove of garlic and a bunch of dried mediterannean herbs (e.g. oregano, basil, parsley, sage, rosemary, marjoram...) in some olive oil.
Add one chicken breast, chopped into bitesize pieces, and fry until the chicken is sealed.
Add half a roughly chopped red pepper and a handful of roughly chopped mushrooms and allow to cook for a couple of minutes.
Add half a tin of chopped tomatoes and a glug of red wine. Add salt and pepper and a little sugar or honey.
Cover and let cook while your pasta cooks.
Serve with the cooked pasta and add s&p to taste, plus grated parmesan and chopped parsley to garnish.
This is what I call italian cooking, but it's probably completely wrong. Please post any hints for improvements, and I'll let you know how they went.
