Ahh the saga of the floop-horn. Highly entertaining and ballsy - I would never have had the guts to actually mail these people!

Why would they ask you to "refrain from using profanity"? Do they get that alot? What a hoot!

Carolyn,

Thanks for responding. My apologies for the profanity. I'm just very passionate about this idea.. (you know it's a good one)

You should insist that if your horn does get used, they call it a "floop." It has a nice wacky sound to it, highly appropriate for a horn that's main purpose is to spread good will...

Yeah, the Floop-Horn, like a distant relation of the flugelhorn.

Just realized it sounds like something from Dr. Seuss - I wonder if it could be....being a struggling children's book author (how pathetic is that? ;) ), I can see this will become my next google research obsession...

well that didn't last long. No such thing in Dr. Seuss land. - heheh

apl that's cool that you want to write children's books...if you ever make it big as the next Roald Dahl (the female counterpart, that is..) keep me in mind for illustrations! I always thought that would be a blast of a job. There are some really well-done children's books out there...of course the oft-cited "Where the Wild Things Are" among them, and plenty more I can't think of at the moment...

Sorry floop, we now return your thread to it's reguarly scheduled content.

My dad works for Daimler-Chrysler at their World Tech Center in Auburn Hills, MI. I believe he's an engineer of sorts (you know, I ask him all the time what he does exactly but I *ALWAYS* forget). I can forward the idea to him, lol.
