Has anyone read anything about Ivan the Terrible; the young Nazi executioner, not the czar? Definitely worth a look into.

first the defence part:
Uhm, really not defending the real NAZI's here But there were soldiers that were pushed to do stuff like that and their was resistance in germany just watch the docu-movie 'Die Weisse Rose'
now to the nazi kicking part: People say I look like a jew, I'm not a jew, my dad is not a jew, my mom is not a jew (which is required to be a jew) and what I'm aware of, nobody in my family is a jew.
The running gag in college is that I'm a jew, they write things down on my books like: Jop must die, signed: Hitler I can laugh about that once, or twice, or what the fuck 30 times. But it just won't stop. What frightens me is that it seems people are picking on me because I'm NOT a jew, so they can tell me there jokes, all in the act of humor, but maybe they have real anti-jew feelings, you know, but since I'm not a jew, but look like one, the can just say these things because it's just a prank. But they like it a little bit too much. And you know what there was this guy in front of me in class today and he drawed that NAZI cross on his book. I asked him why he had that sign on his book and he replied that he liked the way it looked. Scary stuff...
I like Roger Taylor's song Nazi's 1994, very much
we're gonna kick those fucking nazi's

The first thing thatīs pop up were. Not only England but my country as well, stod at the side watching, when Hitler invaded Polen. The big problem were that he dident stop there. But think Polen had back then and army that were living in the 1800 still, they charged german tanks with soilders on horseback, sword drawn and all, great courage. And what about who were good or bad? What is it you say, that the winners write the history. Not saying that the deathcamps wasent there, but you have to be and complet fool, if you think that the allied forces were all good. Alot of shit happends ina war, makes it hard to see good from bad. My grandfather worked againts the germans(nazis), but he still were pretty scared when he could see the night light up, from the allied bombings raids over germany. My country wasent remembered from fighting, but we did save nearly all the jews, that were living in denmark. Victor Borge fled before germany invaded Denmark, loved that guy.

I used to work for a school where a guy on reception was a Hitler nut. He used to do the Heil sign all of the time, and once even claimed that it was good that the Jews were slaughtered in WW2. Man, that really tested my patience and I had to hold my temper back from not rubbing his face in a pile of shit.
Then there was this Aussie guy who I work with who once went on about how Hitler was a good bloke and how he made Germany a strong nation. This guy actually thought that Hitlers portrait was on the German Mark..... what a fucking prick.
I agree, Nazi's are scum and there is no need for them, although the fact that we live in a society that practices freedom of speech means we have to put up with their insane beliefs.

I have seen Mr. Death, great movie. And thanks for the Blues Brothers reference Marcus.
And yes, I do hate nazis, but unfortunately a lot of us would have become them. They were ordinary people who just couldn't think for themselves and got swept up in the moment. Anyone who in their early 20's has ever jumped on the bandwagon, gotten the latest trendy haircut, become passionate about the politics of their college professor, or become swept up in an orthodox religion after being surrounded by it (i.e. if your girlfriend was Mormon or something), or has joined a cult of any type...these are basically characteristics that would make you a Nazi in the 1940's. Sorry if this is offensive, but look at HOW MANY men became Nazis, human beings are weak and pathetic creatures, it doesn't take much to make them think like you. |

Yeah, I wouldn't say that Nazis were not humans, despicable humans as many of them were, but humans nonetheless. What else could they be? I'm reading a pretty decent book called "They Thought They Were Free" about one German-American who lived during WWII (who was not a Nazi) but who just couldn't fathom how his German brothers could be swept up in that evil movement that was plaguing Germany at the time. He could understand how they wanted better for their country, but he couldn't understand all of the horrible means in which they acheived their goals...
The Nazi movement was based in patriotism, when you have that and racism combined you get nationalism in which individual countries start thinking of themselves as superior from any other country of the day. This still goes on today, although we may think it's patently absurd to call yourself a member of the "American Race" or the "French Race," or whatnot. All of the countries in WWI and WWII had an unhealthy dose of this, although Germany took it to new heights in WWII what with all the propoganda (which was manufactured on all sides) and the slaughter of the Jews.

itch that's way too exagerated.not all people who join cults are potential nazis.it depends on how they consider the non members.nazis weren't only a political party they wanted to be the only party.one is free to join whatever group he feels too as long as he respects other people's choices.

I agree, that Lord of the Files type shit is crazy.
It's very frightening to think that the tread of civilasation is so thin. We are all lucky enough to live in places where we are not tested in that way, even if i did, i would like to think i had the inner strength to know right from wrong but who knows how strong your defences are to that type of brainwashing? |

Oh the whole pomp and circumstance was impressive...they knew that...hence the rallies that would even make a jewish man say "Wow...that's pretty impresive." and actually did (there is an article somewhere I read about this which I am too fucking lazy to find just for y'alls amusement right now, sorry) |

Hey, it may be unfair, but how else can you explain all the people who were swept up in it? Look at the Witch Trials, same thing. If everyone in this forum was alive during nazi germany, a lot of us would have become nazis, just like a lot of us would have jumped on the bandwagon and started burning little girls who were proclaimed witches. People are for the most part, very susceptible to scapegoating and strength in numbers. It's a major weakness we have I believe. |

Yes, but it's a weakness we have because it's also a strength. When it comes to survival it's often better to act than to ask too many questions about the act. Not always, but often. |
