Straight-forward, rocking show last night in Heidelberg. Frank's professionalism is second to none. Play close attention to his strumming when he uses the accoustic guitar...unbelievable concentration and precision. The sound is so wonderfully full and crisp...its little things like that that other so-called musicians just can't pull of as consistently as Frank does. Same holds true for Scott's drumming.

Serafin seems to have alot of potential, but man, they had it cranked up too loud. Was this the case at the other shows as well? Anyway, here is the setlist, in no particular order...I may have forgotten one or two:

Cactus
Monkey...
Caribou
Freedom Rock
Headache
666
Robert Onion
Hermaphroditos
Bullet
I want rock and roll
Cold Heart of Stone
Valentine and Garuda
Southbound Bevy
Jane...
The Farewell Bend
Velvety
When will happiness find me again
Nadine
Massif Centrale
Goodbye Lorraine
New House of the Pope
Fare the Well

Great show indeed, I fully agree.

I must say I was a little disappointed with the setlist, which was very similar to the one played in Strasbourg 2 days before. But it doesn't really matter, the songs as usual were worth the travel and I was more than pleased to hear the monumental Freedom Rock, which I hadn't heard live yet.

Personally I don't know what to think about Serafin, except that their lead guitarist is obviously crazy. Some of their songs sound good but they always get drowned in the noise. Apparently the band was satisfied with their French tour, since at the end of their gig in Strasbourg the singer and the bassist thanked France for its warm welcome and its musical curiosity (or something like that)...

Serafin were fucking loud at both the shows I saw.

Other than that though, it sounds like it was a great show. Thanks for posting your thoughts.

ive been to the gig in strassbourg which was really much much better than the one two years before. i dont know why. there was just something like a "special energy" or something. i really liked the way they were "hardrockin".
but i also have to say i`d love the serafins and bought me the cd the other day cause they were fuckin brilliant.
sure they were too loud but it was a perfect rockshow packed with smashhits. they got this " virgined youth power" mixed with creativity i miss in most of the new frank black songs. i mean the songs are great and everything but too fare away to the exploting creativity of the pixies songs or the teenager of the year-era.
