The top rated ads will then be voted on by our panel of esteemed judges, including Michael Moore, Donna Brazile, Jack Black, Janeane Garofalo, and Gus Van Sant.

you know if someone had to play frank black in a film or something -jack black would actually be top choice: 1. he is an actor 2. he is a singer 3. he is physically not far off from Mr. Thompsons range...

I would expect Jack Black to do something like this, but not Frank. Frank doesn't seem very politically vocal, at least in his music, and probably they wanted someone more famous amongst the MTV crowd to represent the organization...(although musicians know who FB is, and I'm sure they would've been glad to have him...) |

I am glad that Frank isn't doing it. He was never involved in any political party and moveon.org is not what i call a "neutral" organization. Frank has better things to do, imho. Like recording a new album NOW! :)

Let's say that: he never showed any party affiliation in any of his songs. That's enough for me. His political ideas are his own business, as far as i am concernerd.

You're assuming that the character in the song is the same as Black Francis and that was 15 (?) years ago. I could perhaps buy that Frank Black doesn't display his political affliation but that doesn't mean he was "never involved in any political party". I think people are prescribing what they want to believe. |

If you put it in its context "losing my penis..." it doesn't really show a serious political involvment...
