there's no date at the moment, but it will be 2003, when the rights in the US revert back to 4ad (may as well do a worldwide release on the same label simultaneously rather than a US release a few months later)
its currently in the middle of legal stuff, which is long, boring and I can't really say much anyway. It is happening though, once all this legal stuff is sorted out, I'd imagine we'll have more of an idea when it will be out. Content I'm not sure of, but I know whatever we can get our hands on here will be on there
as soon as there is news which is a bit more definite I'll post, but there never has been a release date confirmed for this... which has kind of led to everyone assuming its all ready to go - which isn't the case... 2003 anyway :)
cheers

When did the Pavement dvd come out? I've never seen it before. Good? An FB and the Catholics DVD would be sweet.

I think its only just come out - its (possibly) Region 1 only, and I'm hoping we'll get a UK one out, despite Pavement not recording for Matador over here... guess it'll go to V2 or Domino... |

A Pixies DVD would be very very cool. I like the sound of "whatever we can get our hands on will be on there" as well - music promos and everything would be great, but for those of us who weren't around the first time it would great to see some live stuff and interviews etc. Can't wait (although I suppose we're going ot have to .....)

I've heard about some documentary which is about the Boston scene in general, and not just the Pixies... god knows when that'll be happening though! |

Matto, you aren't getting your Brit TV channels mixed up are you?
Channel 4 here did a pixies Docu thing where they got Bowie and Thom Yorke etc to contribute and say what the Pixies meant to them.
They got Frank & Joey & David and Eric Drew Feldman on there too.
I do have a copy on disc if you wanna trade for it.

that documentary will be on the DVD - you're talking about the Gouge one... so its probably not worth trading, cause you'll get a better copy next year ;) |

Leah, I saw that one, it also had Bono talking about how great Frank was and showed clips of gig's in Britain as well as having Frank interviewed whilst he was driving a van. I lost my copy, so could I trade with you when I get back to England??? I could wait til it comes out next year, but by that time I'll no longer be back in Britain and its too much hassle to be sent out here, plus it'll probably get nicked by Chinese customs, as believe it or not Chinese people are all Frank Black fans on the quiet. |

I posted on another DVD thread (not sure which one) that it'll be due in September time. The UK PAL version might come first, with the US NTSC version September-October time. No date set yet though.
there's no Cocteaus DVD planned yet, but it will happen sometime in the future (bear in mind there's only one person in backcat looking after 4ad, Beggars, Wiiija, Mantra, XL and Too Pure - its quite a job! Especially when you've got lots of Gary Numan and Cult fans phoning up demanding we release blah blah from 1980-whatever ;) |
