I frequent a different message board which uses this forum's software. This board is basically a small group of people who all know each other in real life, and spend far too much time creating elaborate aliases/characters. Any time a new person comes to the board, they are treated with immediate distrust and disdain, because everyone assumes that it's just me or some other poster pretending to be someone else.

I was hoping one or two of you would be interested in creating some accounts and posting there semi-frequently over the next two weeks or so. To further complicate things, I could use this thread to post about various cliched topics that they like to talk about - this will make it seem more likely that you are an alias. You should insist that you aren't an alias if confronted, which will only make the regular members more convinced that you are one. People from foreign countries are a plus - we recently had someone from England posting and it created some bonafide wacky moments. So, I'm basically looking for:

1) Someone who has some time on their hands and wants to play a joke on a different message board.
2) Someone from a different country.
3) Frank Black himself (you're more than welcome).
4) Someone who is bored and just wants to goof around.

It's a message board for an underground hip-hop record label, but you'd never know that from the board. Popular topics include burritos, all types of music (though particularly indie rock or hip-hop), coffee, vague inside jokes, and huge flame wars.

Please respond if you're interested. Thanks.

The pleasure... was ME.

I think I fit three out of your four categories. I'm bored and have time on my hands and I am from England also, innit.
I'm also not entirely sure what a burrito is, which might help.
(You might wana use [square brackets] instead of <carats> for your clever codes).

You would actually be a perfect fit. Not knowing what a burrito is could actually help. The recent guy from England, after much debate, was finally determined to be real. However, it also caused the creation of several false English accounts, and if you came along, you'd fit right in. Feel free to be join in, announce that you're from the UK, and we can watch hilarity ensue. You can use this thread to ask me questions about people or topics, and perhaps we can develop some more elaborate schemes. If anyone asks how you found the board, just explain that you stumbled upon it looking for forums in google one day - that should make everyone suspicious as all hell.

Anyway, it's www.weapon-shaped.com/forum/

Don't worry about putting in real email or anything else if you don't want to - registration is instant/free and all that. If anyone else wants to join in, please feel free. We can use this thread for any discussions, but please don't let them know about this board - I don't want them to find out for a while.

Apparently, they don't really exist in England (or at least northern England). The guy from England posted about how he bought a "burrito kit" at the supermarket, and that it was awful... as I'd imagine a "burrito kit" from a supermarket in England would be.

They had burritos when I was there. At least it looked like a burrito.

Sunderland is the evil north, plus its east coast which is even more sucky. I'm sure you can get Buritto kits here in the tropical (ahem) south but they would be terrible, I can guarantee. Its Mexican food right? I thought it might be Spanish for donkey.

I seem to remember FB himself bemoaning the lack of decent Mexican food in London, so I think if one of you lot wanted to open a decent restaurant you'd definitely have a niche available.

You know pleasure, I can't focus with your name today.
I watched a pretty racy Southpark yesterday where the kids got a hold of some awful porno tape. It totally warped Butters, who ran around saying things like 'give me my pleasure, let me see my pleasure'.

Umm, not much going on here today.

Yeah, Sunderland was pretty whacked when I was there - loss of industry (old industrial town) made the locals pretty pissed at tourists/students. People in the International dorms were getting attacked frequently, getting bricks and pipes thrown at their heads. Wasn't very pretty.

On a lighter note, the mexican food may have sucked (which it did), but my god the Indian food was damn tasty (actually spicy), and in London the Thai food reigns supreme.

What is that accent up there? North of Newcastle, south of Edinburgh, was it Jordie? I swear I couldn't understand a single word. Nice enough people though (the ones not trying to kill us).

I tivoed it but haven't been able to watch it yet. Sounds like I'm going to have to sample it as well.

Let me know if you can help infiltrate the weapon-shaped board.

I am British and fully familiar with the food known as burrito. Damn fine it is too. I suppose I've an advantage having spent a couple of summers in California and eating enormous quantities of Mexican food. Had the best Mexican meal of my life in San Luis Obisbo. They had a conveyor belt machine thing in the restaurant along which travelled dozens of tortillas. Very exhilarating (and subsequently fattening)

Maybe I should go on this weapon-shaped board and talk in a cod BBC english. 'Old boy', 'I say', 'jolly cold today Bertie'. That sort of thing.

Indian food has been assimilated into British culture to the nth degree. Did you know the most popular takeaway is chicken tikka masala? Not even an authentic Indian dish.

As for the accent, I guess its a derivative of Geordie (note the correct spelling). Someone from Newcastle is a Geordie, technically, if you're from Sunderland you're a Macam, and never the twain shall meet.
If you're not familiar, get Newcastle Brown Ale. It is the single greatest beer in the world, seriously.

Thanks for the spelling correction. Don't I feel dumb. ;) Yep, I agree about the Newcastle Brown Ale. Newkie's one of my favorites, next up is Old Peculiar. Is it true that the Newcastle beer in Newcastle is a little different?

I don't think so, its bottled after all. I'm aching to go up to Newcastle and try Newcastle Amber Ale, which you don't get anywhere else, and is even better, apparently.
I'd also recommend Courage Directors bitter, a very fine pint.

Sorry Gary - no offense to Sunderland was meant. I was there in the fall/winter, so it was deadly cold/drizzly/windy off the North Sea. As I stated earler, I liked the people there (other than the rare beating-up hoodlum ;) ) quite a bit, and I also generally had a pretty good time as well. I remember, kind of, that I got drunk a lot. I also remember walking into the market district for the first time and seeing a great huge sign that said "Spastics Society". Here in the US, spastic doesn't have the same connotation as it does in the UK, and I thought it was a pretty funny sign. Again, sorry if I implied that Sunderland was terrible. You do have to admit that that winter North Sea wind is a hellish bitch though ;).

C'mon, Sunderland is a dump, and you know it. Actually, thats second-hand knowledge, having never been there, but I'm sure I'm right. Hands up who would choose to live in Sunderland?

Of course I'm just kidding. I wouldn't want to get beaten up by an angry Macam (again, just kidding, no stereotyping here). Remember, although I'm from London and therefore superior to you, we are all level on the playing field of Frank.

You speak the truth, apl. Still, you get used to it eventually. Which brings us nicely round to the passive smoking argument in the 'Franks brothers bar' thread. Surely the government should ban people from cities so we don't make pollution. Or something.
Maybe we should ban Sunderland from Britain, or swap it for somewhere on the NE coast of the US: New York maybe, or Dawson's Creek.

I need to go to bed, the air is getting to me and making me odd.

Rhymin' Sez is a classic example of a random WESH thread. We have no idea who Rhymin Sez is or why he created the thread - but hopefully good times will ensue.

I'm really glad you were game for this. The WESH activity peaks around 8 AM to 5 PM PST on weekdays, but there is also some late night posting as well. If you're persistent, the rampant paranoia will set in at some point, and soon you'll be facing all kinds of accusations - with a bit of luck.

Hopefully it will get really good over the next couple of days.

no worries, i'm originally from Kent (which is much warmer.) I wouldnt call Sunderland a dump, though there are some areas which arent as good as others. Which can be said of most places. If I go out drinking, i usually go to newcastle.

I finally updated my sig. So are all the people posting there actually from England?

As a side note, I think 90% of the WESHers are Pixies fans in one form or another.

For your OCD: WESH is simply short for Weapon-Shaped. It's the record company logo of sorts.
