Well, amigos. I'm just back from this nite concert here in Barcelona. Again, a wonderful show. Maybe a little ""short"" (100 minutes, without stopping), but surely fantastic. Frank's been pretty moody tonight (really serious, but playing really nice) and the rest of the guys have been as awesome as usual (Rich is the greatest guitar-gunner on earth, a true pistolero of rock'n'roll).
The set list included the following songs (No order, just checking from albums...):

A great great show... I missed a lot of songs and the bad didnt do an encore (due to the moody character of Frank), but amazing anyway. The Catholics rock. And Frankie,... well. He's the man. Hope to see them again in one month (if i am lucky, the Bataclan is awaiting for me).

are you sure that the show was 100 minutes long? looks like it didn't even reach 80 minutes, same as Turin gig last Monday where he played for 73 minutes, 20 songs (only) and no encores at all!
Anyway it was great but too short (for what we all know how much more he could play longer in previous shows). But this European tour is so long and full of many gigs every night, 55 shows in 67 days, not bad!

Frank said somewhere in this forum that the encores must be asked by the public. I guess the public is spoiled with encores these days, they don't ask for it anymore because they figure they're gonna get it anyway.
You bet I'm gonna scream for encores in Brussels in a few weeks. |

You bet you're not going to get an encore in Brussels or at least dont count too much on it. If you were not in Barcelona's concert, you better shut up. The reaction of the crowd was fantastic and people were asking for an encore as usual. So you cant blame the public. 2 years ago the concert lasted 2 hours and a half. That was amazing. I wasnt expecting the same this year, but as least they could have played for like 1 hour and a half as in many other places. We are a little disappointed. |

I was in Barcelona (bikini) last night. Frank  (Glasses and T-shirt black) played 1h20 and the public was very Hot. Sound was perfect, I see a lad next to me recorded all the show . We asked for the encore 10 minutes! "It's not serious, That was a great show without stopping! that all...

Well... the show started past 21.30 and finished around 23.10.. it makes more or less 100 minutes, huh? And about the encores, the people screamed for more, but no way. When Rich and David got back to the stage to get their instruments and people asked the reason for no encore, they found no special answer. Rich told me "there's a lot of craziness around tonight". Frank was really moody, but the show was excellent. I'm just looking forward next month to meet them again.

We were in Barcelona Bikini's last night too... Everybody missed an encore, but, nervemind, the concert was good ("Benparit, vamus").
One possible reason why they don't did any encore could be the voice of Frank Black, it seemed a little , what do you think?
But as somebody said here, the two year ago concert was impossible to improve...

| i posted a topic about madridīs concert and it says the same: intense, but too short. i think people should say what they think; i love frank black and his music (i really do) but i donīt hesitate to say that itīs not good to pay 20 euros for such a short concert, especially if itīs frank black who dissapoints you. |
