I'm interested in people's opinions as I think I've come to the conclusion that checking out previous nights' set-lists before going to a gig is a mistake.
Because I'd seen alot of the setlists prior to the gig that I actually went to (the Astoria) I wasn't at all surprised by the songs FB & the C's played that night...
How much nicer would it have been to have not known that I was likely to hear 'Velouria', 'Freedom Rock', 'Black Letter Days' etc?

I totally agree with you, it's such a good sensation to discover the setlist during the concert. It's also a good way not to be disappointed: if you read all the setlists from the previous concerts, not only you already know almost all the titles they're going to play, but you also make your own ideal setlist from the songs they played in the last weeks, and you can have a bad surprise if some song you wanted them to play is missing. For example, I was very excited because I knew that FB often plays Velvety on the tour, and I've been a little bit disappointed not to hear it in Lille. I think hearing the first chords of "Freedom Rock" without knowing first that they were going to play it would have been totally awasome!!! Anyway, we're very lucky because there's a lot of variation in the setlist on the tour (even if the majority of the songs is the same, but they can't change everything everyday!), so there's always a way to be surprised following FB on the tour.

Thanks Snake, you've pretty much summed up my experiences too.
