Shane McGowan does some of that 'pausing' between tracks on his show - normally where he has lost the plot, or realised that he has set fire to himself with his ciggy, (bless him).

I think what you are witnessing is his liver monopolizing all available energy in an attempt to regenerate itself.

That's funny! And sort of sad.

I love the fact that FB & TC's just roll from one song to another. People find it very hard to believe when I tell them they operate without a setlist. It's so cool!

ever seen the Blues Explosion?

Jon Spencer just jumps upp and screams the title of a song and when I comes down they are playing it, I would say in 1,5 sec.
And the fun part is that they don't always play the whole song, just when Jon thinks the song is ready and they need to play another one, he jumps and screams. Incredible!

i like the non stop thing.though funny comments are cool and interesting in a solo\acoustic show i think that they would ruin the rythm of a catholics gig.and billgoodman u r right, jsbe are pretty fucked up on stage, there have moments of complete chaos.they are really weird,an interesting experience.

It IS incredible! Russel and Judah are such great musicians AND they know their place in the band - which Jon also does by the way. Last time I saw them (Leffingeleuren 2003) they started "Bellbottoms" but as nobody was screaming the word (like everyone did in Antwerp two years ago) he stopped playing it as quickly as he started it. Sad, so sad.

Even if you're Michael or Janet: it's a sad, sad planet.

Old neptuna, what about Shane McGowan? What is he doing now? He still sings or gave up ? I remember a Pogues concert in Milano in 1991, and he sung drunk for half the show!(nevertheless was a wonderful show)

See you forever

Well if you've got something better to say, say it. Why not shift the discussion back to FB with a little tact?

Shane MacGowan is always good discussion fodder in my book. Shane!
