some find them disgusting.. some people are obsessed with them..
i'm not much of a cigar guy, at all. but some of my co-workers (who make a lot more money than me) are into them.. and they gave me some.. i gotta say, it's kind of cool to chill with a cigar and a drink.. in an old man sort of way.
anyone like cigars?

Cigars are the exact opposite of a pipe in that, pipe tobacco smells real good but tastes not good,
A good cigar on the other hand smells foul, but can provide, with the right brand and correct adult beverage to accompany it, a pleasant oral experience. |

what sort of adult beverage would you recommend?
i'm not much of a wiskey guy, but lately i've been getting into having a scotch now and then..
i've been kind of anti-wiskey my whole adult life (due to various highly-bad experiences).. but i'm coming around to scotch.. i do feel though, that scotch and/or wiskey is something that you should be into later in life.. like, late 30's 40's..

Love cigars. My Dad came up to visit us this summer, with two of my younger siblings (13 and 17). We all sat on the front porch and smoked cigars and drank KY bourbon. Damn, that was weird, but cool! Nothing like a cigar and a good bourbon to loosen up the conversation....Still have a few from the days when my husband traveled to Switzerland for work, if ya know what I mean. Yum.

| floop, I would recommend that you try Bulleit (great!) (all of these are KY Bourbons!), or Knob Creek (savory, delicious), or Bookers (will knock your dentures out - really great, evaporates almost before it hits your tongue). |

A Bourbon, a port wine, hell, a great beer in a frosty mug. A brandy is dandy as well. |

I never got to see much Mr. Show before it was over - I loved what I did catch, though. One I remeber fairly well had something to do with a "glory hole". Ick.
They are incredibly funny. Someday when I have lots of expendable cash, I will seek out Mr. Show eps. And the movie. |

That was "THE JOKE-THE MUSICAL" where they did a musical out of the old joke where the salesman has to sleep in the farmer's barn and the farmer tells him to not put his dick in any of the holes he sees on the wall but the salesman does....with hilarious consequences...
featuring such musical numbers as

I once attempted to cultivate a cigar & bourbon (good ol' Knob Creek) affectation, but it just wasn't me. I ended up pouring perfectly good bourbon into diet Coke, and the cigars just made me want to urp. More of cigarette & beer girl, but I quit that five years ago.

I always associate cigars with Hannibal off the A-Team, or Jack Nicholson maybe. They look cool (especially the ones that come in miniature nuclear warheads), but it's never the same. As for adult drinks, the Glenlivet or Glenfiddich is the way to go on the scotch front. If not, Southern Comfort (mix with lemonade if you're a wuss) or G&T. Always classy, always cool.

Yeah I know a kid with much the same sense of humor. He keeps quitting and then starting again. I'll nag at him and he'll just say he WILL quit eventually but it's bullshit. I don't think he ever will. I don't doubt that he can but I think it's a matter of truly wanting.
For my part, I hope you all quit but I won't nag.
