haven't heard PowerPuff one, but there is a Mike Watt CD "Ball hog or Tug Boat?" that Frank sings a song on. Great song--though its one of Watt's not Frank's. |

Isn't Pray for the Girls the song off of the Powerpuff soundtrack????? if so then it is a cracking song apart from the shite cartoony bit at the end, which I have wiped off...it really was that annoying. Wasn't the song Frank did with Mike Watt called Big Bang Theory??? If so then I also have that although I don't think its that good. |

Pray for the girl is very a pure genius song !!! i could hear it a few times on loop. for big band theory, it sound very grunge, big voice frome Franck, but for me it's funny to hear the bass line like this one. good song too. but, writing by FB or Mike Watt?

The song Frank sings on Ball-Hog is Chinese Firedrill. It's a slow acoustic song, not bad at all. Big Bang Theory comes from the E-Ticket Ride ep, it's a song by Mike Watt too.

Pray for the Girls is interesting because it came out in the midst of the Catholics albums, and to my knowledge it's the only song Frank has recorded since the Catholics that's A) solo Frank and B) not done live-to-2-track. It's a really cool song, probably could fit right on to Cult of Ray. |

Don't have my copy of the PowerPuff disc in front of me right now, but my recollection is that though the track is listed credited simply to Frank Black, the notes list the personnel as the complete band. Dave McC & Scott are there, and I think Rich too. Don't recall whether Feldman and/or Dave P were involved. Do I have this straight? When I first noticed this my thought was that they omitted the "& the Catholics" out of concern over marketing to kids and, perhaps more importantly, their moms. Don't want to get remotely political and thereby risk reducing the market, or something like that. This may be bullshit, but it's what occurred to me. - Mel |

PFTG was recorded with Frank, Scott, Dave M, Rich, and Dave P. No Feldman.

that's because frank black and the catholics are so talented.
Imagine how terrible (in addition to their already existing awfulness) so many of those "radio bands" would sound if they recorded live to 2 track. I can see why so many of those bands record digital and with tons of edits. Cuz they suck. Of course there are some awesome bands that record with overdubs too. Even Frank did at one point.

I was absolutely fascinated with this song when I first discovered it, same type of feeling as I had when I found Man of Steel. Couldn't stop listening.
Strummer-man I had me a vision!
I bid a good-day to you sir! |
