I might be going completely out of my mind but I have found some evidence that draws parallels with Frank Black and 'The Tap.' I have found only two instances so far, which are subject to discussion, although I am sure that some of you will reply and inform me that I am going out of my mind. So far the evidence is:
Exhibit One: Matto's description of Coach House Gig (07/19/02)
FB & C are playing a great set, but due to Scott Boutier being ill ithey are minus a pigskin beater. So, halfway through the set Black signals backstage and a certain Mr Lovering magicly appears and takes the position by the scruff of the neck.
This is very reminiscent of the final Tap gig at the end of the 'Rockumentry'. Nige Tufnell has had a falling out with the band, but appears at one of their gigs. As he's watching from backstage Dave St Hubbins signals to him, and he returns to The Tap in a blaze of glory.
Exhibit Two: Pray A LIttle Faster
In this classic song off of 'Oddballs' there is the following line:
'They'll get to Heaven, and turn it up to Eleven.'
(at least I think that is how the lyrics go... I tried to check 8th Day but some weird German site comes up)
'Turn it up to Eleven...' Nige Tufnell during an interview states that the band like to give the fans a little extra rock, so they turn their specially designed amps up to 11 (whereas most rock groups only have 10 levels of volume).
Am I going crazy or can anyone else see some kind of pattern forming??
