I'm just trying to understand the man behind the music. Do you think Frank is eccentric, or, in other words, weird?
I'm sure he has a sense of humor, but it's probably beyond simplicity... I'm sure he has great social skills, but unpredictable as a friend... I'm sure he's partially sane, but more greatly insane...
I don't know... singing about ufo's, divorce, etc. Sounds like a cool guy to me.

I think that kind of crap falls into the category of "stuff stalkers think about"
If you're worried about his personal life and noy just the music, you've gone too far.
In other words....who gives a crap? |

Do you ever criticize people's posts in a polite fashion? Or do you have a gene that causes you to be negative and condescending?
I don't know why I'm writing this because it won't change the way you nitpick everyone's posts that you disapprove of.

I think there's a difference between eccentric and "weird". To me, weird has a negative connatation, while eccentric is complimentary. I actually think weird is an overused word in regards to lots of things. Frank's an original, simple as that. |

he seems extremely straight up as far as i can tell from interviews etc. -biggest quirk would be his fantastic energy for creating and performing music.

I think if he was not weird, or all "normal" then he would be boring and I wouldn't love him. It is his weirdnesses (new word) that make him fabulous. |

i agree with ProverbialCereal. i don't understand why you are part of a forum if you're just going to be mean to everyone. that's not exactly conducive to good conversation.
and your response didn't really have anything to do with the question except that it kind of echoed it. it wasn't exactly a clever burn ever. i mean, if you're going to be mean, you could at least be smart and funny about it. |

i think that in terms of behavior, he is totally "straight up", as someone said. however, he has a lot of different interests in things that most people never think about and might have never even heard of. i guess it's also unusual for a man to make it to his age and still have such a sense of wonder and excitement about life. he doesn't seem like the kind of guy to give a rat's ass what anyone thinks about him or what he does, and i guess that could qualify someone as eccentric according to some definitions. |

Bullshit.
I simply stated that if you start asking about this kind of stuff, you are entering weird stalker territory.
I stand by that. It's stupid.
I don't give a fuck what Cereal or TojoYamamoto have to say about anything. Nor do I care for ignorant lameos who post
"Ditto, right on man" See above. That's about the most ignorant thing anyone can post.
And why do you even care what I think. I certainly don't care what you think. Everyone is just stating their own stupid opinion. |

Alright, I shouldn't have to do this, and maybe I shouldn't do it, but here's how this society works. There are a lot of us. We're going to be interested in different things. Some of us will think that others' posts are irrelevant, self-promoting, or stupid. Just as others will think that some of your posts are any of the above.
Rather than comment on it every single time you don't like what a post is, just don't enter that thread. Because, invariably, at least one person doesn't care for each and every thread on here. If all these people posted about how 'this thread is stupid' or whatever, then the entire forum would devolve into arguments about the validity of the topic as opposed to the topic itself. Or worse, people back and forth calling each other names like three year olds.
So you don't like it, leave it and don't come back. Or come back if you want. That's your choice. Or, if you want to continue raising a big fuss every time someone says/does something that doesn't kive with you personally, there's probably a "join" feature somewhere on this website:

yea needs a little work... maybe if actually put to music it might make sense -but basically the only reason i'm posting is i'm noticing some angst in mr. swimmers jammys... whats' the deal -did your girl leave you or dog die or something -i've had it rough lately and i find it helps to chop some text down the pike into this limboland called FBnet. but you seem downright bent on angst patrol. theres no reason to attempt to ridicule half of what bounces your way in here.. i get a sense of satisfaction at just simply trying to be civilized and not offend anyone AND STILL BE AN OBNOXIOUS MOUTH OFF.
..i could have been an asshole and said what i really thought: that's definitely one of the most trite useless pieces of crap i've seen put to words -honestly! well maybe not THE worst -but it could be a joke song for Jack Black to sing -now for that it's brilliant! otherwise pardon my dander but you come off as pretty damn arrogant and yet amazingly neanderthal for someone who can read...

There are more than 2 forum members who have posted so you need to be more specific on who "both" is.

dear friends: i will go to santiago to meet Frank, i think everybody must be himself, and if you are not original just work out your imagination. Frank is a fine musician and a very cult person and he puts a lot of himself in his songs both in pixies and now in his solo career, we are almost the same age and both left commerce seeking other career, i see my life very similar to him and can see the evolution of his lyrics as the things in my life have changed. our war is the same: keep on learning behave yourself david vigo
