i'm not gonna type it all up at once, but i'll update my post whenever. sorry about all the colours, i'm just trying to make it true to their layout! okay, its got a nice photo where frank is standing in front of this white screen, and you can kinda see someone behind it pushing their arms up against it. i think its a regular article they do every issue, cos in a yellow box it says "This Is My Truth" here goes... This Is My Truth Frank Black THE FORMER PIXIES FRONTMAN ON DAVID LYNCH FILMS, NEAR-DEATH EXPERIENCES AND WHY SOMETIMES IT'S GOOD TO CRY
I wasn't born into any relegion and don't have any relegious beliefs now, but i was sold a lot of that sort of stuff as a teenager. One of my brothers went to a Bible class and it spread like wildfire through my family. As soon as we hit 16 or 17 we were like 'No. I don't think so'. I think it messed me up some, but generally there is some good about it as well.
The best piece of advice my father gave me when i was young was that you have very few true friends. Those that remain with you don't number very many, probably to be counted on one hand.
When i was a college student I saw a lot of art films and films about the history of art and I really dug them. I was reading about Serge Gainsbourg recently; he was the son of a painter. He realised that he didn't have what it takes to be a great painter but knew that it was surrealism that turned him on. So he became a surrealist that made music. I guess that is what happened with me and the Pixies. I take my cue from rock'n'roll records now, but surrealism was the first thing that made me want to make music.
I was a big David Lynch fan when I lived in Boston. Lately I'm a bit turned off by his films. I liked the sexuality of Blue Velvet but there is something about the presentation of female nudity in his later films that comes across as gratuitous. |

My friends you could count on one hand-uh! (Mark Smith). That article sounds great, I'm desperate to hear more though. |

Here here! That sounds like one incredible interview. Thanks very much!
When Buckminster Fuller came to Canada, he kept asking the same question: "Have you ever really considered how much your buildings actually weigh?" --"The Big Top." |
