More shameful plugging.... sorry..
Just a reminder that *sparkling voice-over guy tone* the UK's premier/only/best Pixies "tribute" Nimrod's Son are playing The Venue in New Cross, London on Friday the 24th of October. We rarely play London and may be splitting up soon, so here's yer chance! Drop me a line before the gig and we'll hook up on the night, meet the band, be rock stars etc maybe even get ya onstage and sing a number or 2 with us.
£7 on the door, reduced rate (£3 off or something) with the ad in the next NME's giglistings. Clubs within the complex open until the weeeeeeee small hours (included in door fee).

Doog forgot to mention that if you want to hear him do a cover, you can download his cover of Headache from the You Ain't Me FB Tribute CD here on the FTP site.
How's that for a plug within a plug. I take my leave of you, now.

We were considering throwing in something like Headache, and also Cannonball, but it seems kinda pointless. I don't go to see a Beatles tribute and expect Ringo Starr's own material.. |

hey and you also realise, that day will be the last day Concorde flies over london - I was planning on standing in Telegraph Hill park (near my flat and very close to The Venue) to commemorate its roar! |

Are they no longer flying concordes? Because of that one crash? Or did something else come up?

Concorde has been flying since then (it drowns out whatever is on tv around 8pm each night), although it was stopped for a while.
they're retiring the entire fleet (although Richard Branson was trying to buy them) cause they're too expensive to run... so that night is the last landing into Heathrow (and we're over the other side of London!!) concorde is soooooo loud |

Hey Doog, are you the same Doog who posts on www.jag-stang.com? And if so can I assume you own one (or a Jaguar or Mustang)?

Thought you would be. Lucky you, you should have kept them. I really want one but unfortunately they are near impossible to get left handed. Unless you had them made for you like Kurt.

I had my oversized Old Navy blue hooded sweatshirt on and I danced to The Darkness very embarrassingly twice in the night (that's a story for somewhere else, I think!)
I stood with my husband towards the back when you started as it was so loud, then found a pair of earplugs in my bag so sat back at the side with everyone else, but I was behind a pillar for a lot of the night (not sure why, I think it was tiredness)
mind, the grins from everyone in the venue meant you could tell they were having a good laugh! ohh March... maybe my ears will be ok by then :) |
