ColdHeart, have you read any other Hesse books? Siddhartha was good but hardly Hesse's best. In that respect it is over-rated. Try Steppenwolf. btw, did you like siddhartha?

- Hotel California, which is a real, historical, musical disaster.
- Anything by Foreigner (though I liked their first albums when I was a teenager - a long, long time ago).

I really like and respect Neil Young, but I must say that some of his 80s releases (Trans, Landing On Water) are really awful.

I was watching on VH1 or somewhere that Neil Young released some less-than-stellar albums as an attempt to get back at his record company for trying to force him to re-hash his old, familiar sound. Apparently he wanted to branch out musically, and tried to release an album of techno-based music, and they said no, we want "Heart of Gold," and "Harvest" again, the old predictable Neil sound. I don't know if that was in the eighties when you were talking about, tho, sir Frog.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

I hate Hotel California. Worst classic rock would have to be anything by the likes of Kansas, Toto, and anyone in that same vein.

Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Gimme Three Steps." Stupid crackers. Ditto for Molly Hatchet's "Flirtin' With Disaster." And Sugarloaf's "Green Eyed Lady" and any of those shitty songs w/"Sarah" in them that people used to torment me throughout my youth.

70's Heart=good 80's Heart=vile

And onn behalf of my husband, I request that The Marshall Tucker Band's "Heard It In a Love Song" be cast forever into the fiery furnace. The chorus goes "Heard it in a love song. . . can't be wrong." As a child, he instead heard it as "Purty little love song. . .dink dink dong." I don't think that knowing the correct lyrics has purged his hatred of the song any.

maybe i haven't been paying attention, but when the fuck did g'n'r and nirvana become classic rock? is it possible that i'm that much of an old fart? Well, anything's possible, i guess.

Trans and Landing on Water were released in the 80s and are both techno-based. Trans is heavy and clumsy, LOW is clean, dull and tasteless. Awful !!!

I like that song all right, but why it's apparently Blur's biggest hit baffles me. They have MUCH better songs.

And it's Song 2, by the way. Unless they made a sequel, and that's what you hate.

I'm little late on this one, but Hotel California is my least favorite song of all time. Only other Eagles songs (i.e. Desperado) can challenge its suckiness.

I think it was more doowob/greaser music (is that how you spell it?) than techo. I think he was trying to fulfill his required number of albums.

My poor sister was so disappointed when she finally got to go to a Neil Young show and it was during his Shocking Pinks (isn't that what they were called?) phase. I liked "Wonderin'" ok, though.

Yeah Rod Stewart is a wanker and the king of bad hair. "Every Picture Tells a Story" is pretty good, but that was many years and bad albums ago.
