But I will copy the text anyway. Please note you have until midnight tomorrow (October 7th) to win two spots on Frank's guestlist for the gig on the 9th.
Frank Black and the Catholics arrive at The Station Remember those mad days of yore dancing to The Pixies? no -well listen up youngsters cuz you're in for a treat as the man now known as Frank Black is coming to The Station on Oct 9 and we've got the gift of the blag so two of you will get your names on the door. Listen to the new album with a big scotch - there isn't a happy song in the whole bunch - sob Contrary to popular belief, Frank Black, or rather Black Francis, did not actually exist prior to the Pixies.
Frank’s solo career has been longer and provided far more diversity, musically speaking, than his career with the Pixies to the point that they’d not even be worth mentioning were they not so influential and inspirational to so many people.
From Show Me Your Tears, his latest album, all the way back down to the original self-titled Orange album, he’s gone from multi-tracked new-wave mayhem to classic rock to a distinctive country twang.
He played at Bowie’s 50th birthday by request, he’s covering Sugar Daddy on the Hedwig & the Angry Inch soundtrack as well as an appearance on the X-Files soundtrack (Man of Steel) and the Powerpuff Girls (Pray for the Girls).
The new album is a tad morose but Frank's online diary tells the tale of its making which kinda explains a lot.
"I've been going to therapy. Take out your big knife, doc, and split me right down the middle of my chest, from my neck to my belly. See my heart muscle right here? Pumping and full of electricity.
"Take that knife and split my skull open. See the brain about to explode? The doctor said "I'm not interested in your damn brain; you got a big broken heart? Big deal.
"I'm not interested in your heart, SHOW ME YOUR TEARS!" And so here they are. Thirteen big, salty tears. Like thirteen little black dogs just born, still in their sacs, about to wake up, ready to howl at the world.
"There isn't a happy song in this bunch. I mean, maybe MASSIF CENTRALE has a ray of hope, but even then, I don't know, central France can be really cold and lonely.
Maybe NADINE is a sexual celebration, but man, I get so sad when I think about her, way back when, ah f**k, whatever happened to me and her? So maybe you'll like this record." Frank Black
SHOW ME YOUR TEARS - track listing: Nadine / Everything Is New / My Favourite Kiss / Jaina Blues / New House Of The Pope / Horrible Day / Massif Centrale / When Will Happiness Fine Me Again? / Goodbye Lorraine / The Old Heartache / The Snake / Coastline / Manitoba
The current line up for The Catholics: Scott Boutier - drums Rich Gilbert - guitar David McCaffrey - bass Dave Philips - guitar

Asking what his real name is might have been tougher and could draw a real fan. It's not like they don't give away the answer in the story anyway.
ATROCIOUS QUESTION!

It's called "get as many people to enter the competiton as possible" question. My favourite of this genre was the brlliant: Bob Dylan is (a) a famous singer/songwriter (b) a winter sport

Well believe it or not, that can be beaten:
A dutch tv callgame, a clip of the Stones is shown and after that the quiz master says:
That were the rolling stones, ohh no, I mean which band is this?
a. Beatles b. Rolling Stones c. Bill Goodman's Surface Noise
that was just plain stupid
