Check this out, my friend told me about this program which was screened on British tv the other night. Insane! I'd rather watch re-runs of Dynasty or Falcon Crest than this shite. Did anyone watch it?
Magician "plays" Russian roulette on TV
LONDON (Reuters) - A magician apparently "played" a deadly game of Russian roulette with a loaded pistol on a television show despite criticism the stunt could lead to copycats.
The show by self-styled "psychological illusionist" Derren Brown was broadcast on Channel Four television, which said there would be a slight tape delay so transmission could be quickly ended if he blew his head off.
Brown carried out his stunt in an unnamed foreign country on Sunday, since handguns are illegal in this country.
A volunteer, picked by Brown from 12,000 hopefuls, put a bullet in one of the gun's six chambers. Brown then said he was reading the volunteer's mind to determine where the bullet was before putting the gun to his head.
Twice Brown put the revolver to his head and squeezed the trigger. On the third shot the illusionist pointed the gun away and fired. The chamber was empty.
After several minutes of silent contemplation Brown fired at his head and then quickly fired the live round into a wall of sandbags.
Police had earlier labelled the stunt "deplorable" and called for the show to be stopped, saying there were fears someone might copy it.
Britain has been shocked by a spate of gun attacks in the past week, including the fatal shooting of a jeweller in a family-run shop, the daylight machine-gunning of a man on a street and the shooting of three other men the following day.
Channel Four and Brown denied the Russian roulette stunt was irresponsible. The illusionist said it was designed to show the dangers of guns.

| It does belittle the problems that most of the people in the world do have if you're prepared to twat around with your own life like that. I suppose assholes make interesting TV. If it was a choice of 'man in box' or 'man with gun to head' I think Brown did make better entertainment than Blaines idiot-in-a-box stunt. |

Why are people acting as if it wasn't *completely* rigged?! He's a magician who knows how to work up tension in an audience, nothing more.

| Well actually he never said he was reading the volunteer's mind, he just listened to his voice as he said out the numbers of the chambers. Inflections and such, I guess. |

sick, you know whats sick... all these stupid reality shows that fuck around with peoples emotions... like Paradise Hotel...ive never seen this but you dont have to watch it to get the general idea...and its still on the air.. along with all those other stupid...so called "reality shows".. but what can i say...people would rather watch others suffer than admit that its wrong

I would not watch that because it's abviously rigged to turn out so there is no actual 1 in 6 chance of the guy blowing his head off. The show is also supposedly filmed live on a slight delay.
If I was 100% convinced that each chamber has an equal chance of discharging as the next one and the show was live with no delay, I'd watch it. Who the hell cares if the stunt goes well and the guy makes it? I wanna see this guys brain all over my TV screen so that I can laugh at how much of an idiot savant he is to play a game that assumes a 1 in 6 chance of dying. |

you know what show i hate... punk'd...
first of all i cant stand that no talent crutchen...whatever the hell his name is... and all it is is a chance for him to show how many hollywood hot shots he knows... there all wankers if you ask me.. its also a chance to shove in your face how much money they have to waste on multiple selfish desires.

I got an email off of my mate last night, who said that the show was really good..... still makes me think that t.v. producers are getting desperate for ideas nowadays to put that shite on t.v.

I don't think it was rigged, but at the same time I don't think Darren Brown would have entertained the idea if he didn't belive one-hundred percent in his own abilities. Wait until you see the guy in action, he is pretty amazing. He can punch people without even touching them, very talented guy.
