Since I know that some of you can play an instrument or three, which would you choose to cover & why?
I think I'd pick Superabound, just for the great simple melody...

Solid Gold is really fun to play. I used to love playing that one in a band I used to be in. 85 weeks sounds harder to play than it really is, so you can impress non musicy people with that one. Id love to play I want rock and roll in a band, but I cant find anyone to do a comparable solo! |

I am limited to those I can actually play. Last night I was messing around with "Parry the Wind." Man, what a song. I wouldn't even try the likes of "I Want Rock and Roll" with its crazy scary rhythm. I am scared, mommy.
Hey pong so are you saying you play all songs "dog gone fast" or you play the song "Dog Gone, fast"? ;)

Well, the only thing I can play with is my..... erm we won't go there. But if I had any kind of music talent then I would choose to pick up a guitar and whack out Jane Queen of Love.... that first part where it goes from a semi depressing melody until the guitars kick in (reminiscent of Paint it Black by the Stones) always sends a chill through my body. Abstract Plain is also a cool song that I wish I could play.
In fact, I once had a guitar and without lessons tried to teach myself how to play Ana using guitar tabs. Maybe if I would have had lessons it might have been easier, but I just didn't know how to hold the damn thing properly and where to place my fingers. |

the second one : i play "dog gone" fast. try that : you just begin with guitar (but faster) and voice, and when it come "i felt so dog gone", drums do a roll, and begin a fast rythm. i have to say i'm sorry for my poor explain, but it's hard to explain those things in english when your french...

'Two Reelers' and 'Mosh, Don't Pass The Guy'. I'd jam with people on any Frank song for kicks, but those are the two that I FANTASIZE about playing on stage and/or recording someday. This is a great topic! |

We attempt to cover as many as possible....but found that The Man Who Was Too Loud and You Never Heard About Me were our strongest. Also play D=rxt. I agree, Superabound and anything from Cult Of ray are great.

i normally feel the opposite. i love learning new FB songs on the guitar, but i think it takes a bit out of the magic of the song. contradictory, yes... i donīt know how to explain this too well, but for example, the chorus in valentine and garuda. the first time i heard that, it gave me goosebumps. i think the fact that i didnīt undestand what the hell that was, that weird combination of chords, had a big part in that. when i learn how to play a FB song, it just increases my admiration for his writting skills. i donīt know if i end up liking the songs more. maybe itīs just me and my cave man-like guitar skills. there are few exceptions, though. ana, for example. the way he plays with the structure of that song, how the chorus is sometimes in the wrong fret(?)... thatīs not normal. and i donīt think it is that noticeable when you hear it. so yeah, ana. guitars. pure genious. ... |
