I was a pretty big Frank Black fan until I read his reply to some musician (I presume) named Harris that stated he'd like to only watch Mr. Show again the whole tour. Now I know this dude is THE MAN! How many of you all like Mr. Show? Any favorite sketches? Also, I read somewhere that his wife (or I guess ex-wife) was an actor in some alternative comedy troupes. Does anyone know anything about this? |

"Harris" is Scott Boutier, the drummer for the Catholics. I haven't watched a lot of Mr. Show, but I'm definitely a fan. One sketch that sticks out in my mind is the one where a heavy metal band visits one of their fans in a hospital as part of the Make-A-Wish foundation and it turns out their fan is a real life "stickperson", as in he has fleshy sticks for arms, legs, and torso. The band is mortified when they find out, but the kid ends up being in the band's music video (or something like that) anyway. David Cross is always funny as hell in his network tv appearances. |

Mr. Show is one of my favorite shows of all time. My favorite skit is when they decide to blow up the moon. Did anybody catch the tour that they did last year? |

Mr.Show has a cool site. Whatever happened to Run Ronnie Run? The Ronnie Dobbs story. Mr.Show kicked some serious ass. The boys in the Catholics must enjoy the odd fungus trip.

Run Ronnie Run is now out on DVD and shouldn't be too hard to find. Seasons One and Two are out in one DVD package and Season Three is on another two disc set, Season Four is yet to be released. I missed them on tour and I'm still kicking myself for it, but apparently that was just a trial to see if touring was viable and think they are planning another one already.

Thanks. It is no longer on in syndication anymore. Now I just have to get rid of my Beta machine and upgrade to this DVD (?) you speak of. Some sort of reel to reel?

I saw that sketch over at my friend's house last night. It had me in stitches! Mr. Show rules. I need to buy a season or two on dvd, I reckon.
I think the comedy they write is brilliant...very random, which is a huge plus for me. Also, its cool how all the skits kind of blend into each other. Brilliant...

I loved Run Ronnie Run and most of my friends did, I could see that other people might not like it much though it does drag in certain points but there are some really great scenes in it that are at least worth one watch. There are also a few scenes that are just Mr. Show scenes word for word with a better set. It's worth the time just to see the Three Times One Minus One music videos though.

I haven't seen Mr. Show in years, but I still can't look at a carton of Tofutti with a straight face.

man, last night my friend sent me a Realplayer link to a video for the Yo La Tengo song "Sugarcube"...it has David & Bob from Mr. Show in it, as well as one of the other dudes whose name escapes me.
it's HILARIOUS...i highly recommend checking it out. If i hadn't lost the link i would post it right now for you all (DOH)
it basically makes fun of the whole corporate/arena-rock aesthetic.

Does the Run Ronnie Run DVD have any extras on it? I haven't been able to find it anywhere yet.
