Assuming there were one, where would it first locate? East Coast or West Coast? (Anywhere outside North America would be out of the question....I think that's a given). I'm thinking somewhere in New England. Being that all of the Catholics (except EDF and DP)and Pixies have lived there at one point or another. |

the pixies had a massive following in europe did they not? possibly as big/bigger than in the usa, so i wouldnt say out of the question...although in their home country would make sense, im just biased :).

so would each band member have his own booth? sorry, i was picturing a conventional convention. and of course one would hope that the actual band could make it. i kinda like that one idea where it's a FBnet fan appreciation concert: generators and kegs is as far as organizing goes and it would locate different on a once every two year schedule (don't wanna wear these guys out) first year in the arizona desert in the winter or new mexico in the spring. location scouting should be based on being a cool place to be -i think frank would like it that way -and it would cost us money cause that's just the way it is see... ...second go 'round could be Iceland??

Pixiesfest? Catholics Con? Something like Beatlesfest? I don't know if it would happen. It would be cool though. |

...so instead of trekkies with makeup and fake languages we could all learn franks' hand signals for what song he wants to play when he's on stage... on another note: has anyone heard of 'friends forever' they are a band that takes do it yourselfism one better by traveling the U.S. in a VW van outfitted to open up as a stage -complete with fog machines etc. and apparrantly they do get billed at shows but often just show up at other gigs and play at the 'van' stage adjacent to a show playing loud fucked up noise jams. they have a proper CD out now called: 'killball' or something like that and they put out a hundred or so LPs on vinyl recently, trying to release 300 records in a year as a goal of some sort. it's all in the recent chicago reader so i imagine it's somewhere at the front of the 'post no bills' section of the reader.com or chicagoreader.com or something like that. someone has followed them around and made a film called friends forever that is on DVD and has been on the sundance channel. cool DIY shit if ya ask me.

It would have to be in Roswell. Something about that place makes everything and everyone seem a little more normal.

didn't the 'outer space' references taper off around the 'Pistolero' mark??

man, I miss the chicago reader. I miss chicago. You in Chicago blarg?
I like this idea. It would have to be at the pleasure of the band, first and foremost, of course. How about doing it in Cypress Gardens, FL (recently closed, I know, but maybe we could work something out) and the band could play in a large glass-bottomed boat, and all the fans in groups on other boats, just floatin along down the water? Or maybe at the "Corn Palace" - I forget which state that's in.

Has nothing to do with the outer space references. Just the fact that a convention of this sort needs something to be an abstract. A Black to it's white. No pun intended. Maybe we could have it at Euro Disney?
