If your cd book was stolen from your car which rare, out of print, or prized cd would you hope would be in your cars cd player at the time of theft and hence not stolen with the rest?
The only one I keep in there that's rare at all is the Hormoaning EP by Nirvana.

i stopped bringin my cd book in the car cause im way too paranoid about them getting stolen. i usually just bring a few cds at a time to cut my losses if they do end up being stolen. stealing someones cd book is probably the worst crime i can think of haha.

I pick my Balwinder Safri CD, because I can't even remember where the hell I ordered it from.

That's actually a good idea to copy all your CDs and just have CDr's in your car. On a good day at Best Buy you can get 50 CDr's for 5 bucks (after mail-in rebate). So it would cost about 15-20 bucks to duplicate your average CD collection. It would also take a while, but if even 30 of your CDs got stolen, that's at least 350 bucks down the drain. Seems worth it.

I can't wait for DVD-+R MP3 players to come out. Imagine, 4.7gb of MP3s on ONE disc. Stolen? Who cares, burn another copy! |

I travel with my MiniDisc car kit and take only a few discs with me. The recorder is never left in the car.

I'm sorry ebb, was there anything rare, oop or your precious stolen? Was there anything in the car cd player? Have you started rebuilding the collection?

I feel your pain... This has happened to me countless times over the last 21 years, except no car was involved. I move a lot so things just seem to end up elsewhere. If i had all the cd's ive ever owned in my life, Id probably be swimming in them now, now its just enough to spread all over my floor as a nice carpet....about 600 or so. Ive also had to sell some......eeehhhh....hard times....hard smokeless times.
I wanna rock and roll all night, and part of everyday... |

I've been making CD-R duplicates of all of my favs for a while now.
I did have "Give 'Em Enough Rope" by the Clash stolen from my desk at work, though.

Using the cassette player and a cassette adapter, I listen to MP3s with a Creative Jukebox Nomad 3, 20GB storage. When I'm not listening to it in the car, I take it with me. It may not be as small or sexy as an iPod but it'll do.
This arragement is better than an MP3-CD player, in my opinion, because my Jukebox can hold a hell of a lot more tunes than a CD or even a DVD. And the batteries can last for 22 hours. No iPod can claim that.
