I've been meaning to pick up an Outkast album. Thanks for the accidental reminder on your part.

I really don't like rap, and I don't know much about Outkast but that song came on the radio last night, and I had never heard it before, but I REALLY liked it. It's a cool song and very catchy.

I don't like rap either, but that "The Whole World" song is pretty catchy.

i can't stand most rap. jimmy pop ali (from the bloodhound gang) was once playing word association during an interview and for the word 'rap' he replied 'takes no talent.' that's pretty much my view.

i have no idea if i will like the rest of outkast's material, but the few songs i do know ('hey ya', 'ms. jackson', 'so fresh so clean') i love. actually i hated 'so fresh so clean' and 'ms. jackson' when i first heard them, but it was because i liked them so much and i didn't want to like them 'coz they seemed so stupid.

but then i realized outkast seems to be like the black ween.

Finally something we agree on Ebb.

Outkast as the black Ween. I see your point. I think you mean because both are so free with the kind of songs/rhymes they create.

Stankonia changed my life. That album is incredible. I am eagerly awaiting the new one/ones.

Granted, a lot of people think you don't have to have talent to be a rapper.

That's true for Puff Dicky or Jay-Z, for them they just talk a lot of bullshit, but if you think it takes no talent to do what Outkast do or Missy Elliot or Eminem and his ability to use the language that he does, you are, as Ebb Vicious would say, fucked in the head.

Open your eyes and ears. Listen to Outkast, listen to Cee-Lo, listen to Tribe and then tell me it sucks. It will just prove to me that you are a walking dead person.

outkast is good stuff - their new album thats coming out soon is a 2 disc set - each member does a "solo" album, so it should be interesting.

the black ween...i like that

Most rap seems more like an accessory for a white yo-boy's souped up Honda. These sad people use it as part of their (hilariously stupid) image.

It's too bad there aren't more rap groups like Outkast who actually incorporate real instruments instead of using sappy drum loops with cliched hand claps on the upbeat. And none of this "yeah, uh-huh, c'mon" crap that P Diddy makes millions off of.

well i think what is talented about outkast and tribe is not the rapping. it's the melodies, it's the harmonies, it's the lyrics.

writing lyrics is not exclusive to rap. rapping is how they choose to deliver the lyrics sometimes.

i will say again i agree with jimmy pop ali that rapping takes no talent. eminem is not really talented. he has clever and funny lyrics sometimes, but that's not really hard at all. he's only funny in the 'haha' way too, not in the 'oh fuck i'm going to throw up i'm laughing so hard' way. he's really, really overrated. he doesn't even compare to the talents of outkast, tribe, etc. but because he's a honkey he's treated like a messiah.

anyway, whatever.

You're cynical take on everything act is getting real old. It's a cool "character" you've made up for yourself though.

I don't like Eminem personally. He is critically lauded for his skills with the language, by critics and other hip hop artists. There is no denying that.

But anyone who takes stock in what a fucking retard from The Bloodhound Gang says I shouldn't rate anyway.

Have a craptastic day dipshit.
