Why is it that I live in Indianapolis, a great, cheap and up and coming city and I have to drive to see my favorite artist of all time perform? I have been to 20+ Frank Black shows, I have seen him in Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Virginia, California, Arizona, and Indiana once at the Second Story. But why not Indianapolis? I hope my friends and I didn't scare Frank off when he played here last. Frank please please please return to Indiana - play in indy not bloomington!! And I promise no more hugs from my crazed friends!! |

Hey King, are you making the trek to Chicago for tomorrow night's show?

That's why I am so perturbed, no! I cannot go to Chicago to see the greatest performer in the world. I am 30 years old, job, two kids and I love frank black and I am at the point in my life where I can no longer drop everything and go see him unless it is on a weekend. HELP ME FRANK HELP ME! |

I understand, King, believe me. Similar situation for me as well, and I'm even older than you (35)!! I was thinking of taking my daughters to one of the in-store concerts, since I figure it is all ages. They are only 6 and 4, but they LOVE Frank (my youngest could sing along to Blast Off, Hermaphroditos, and Llano at less than 2!). Yes, even garbled the swear words!! It was sort of precious, actually, in a weird way, because she had no idea what she was saying, and it didn't even come out right anyway. They also both adore Dave P (Mom's influence I s'pose!), and my older daughter has been known to practice her play-guitar with a stick pretzel in her mouth while proudly proclaiming "Look Mom, I'm Dave Philips!". My friends and neighbors must think I'm quite the parent!!
