Tonight's the night. I'll do my best to put some kind of review up here by tomorrow. It's a solo acoustic show, so it should be pretty interesting. Can't wait!---Jayhawk |

Dave, you could post a FrankBlack.net "business card" type thing that we could print out, copy, and then take to shows to hand out. ;) - Mel |

Just got home from a great FB show, two Catholics played along(Dave and Scott). Seemed to be in a pretty good mood, made some jokes, smiled,etc.... The other times I've seen him he didn't do much of that stuff. Sounded great, even got sloppy in a couple of places--I loved it. I'm not the type to bring a pen and paper to a show, but here's a rough setlist: Crackity Jones, Brackish Boy, Abstract Plain, Whiskey In Your Shoes, Sister Isabelle, unknown song, Cold Heart Of Stone, Fields Of Marigold, Holiday Song, unknown song, started to play I'll Be Blue and stopped, Southbound Bevy, Holiday Song, Robert Onion, Six Sixty Six, Jane The Queen Of Love, Monkey Gone To Heaven, Jumping Beans, Velvety. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but that's pretty close. Good crowd, they really got into Velvety. Wish I could go to Chicago tomorrow. I was very happy to hear the new stuff, it sounded really good to these ears. Going to bed----Jayhawk |

Sounds well good, so he didn't play a slimmed down version of End of Miles. I'd love to hear that song live as its the coolest song on the new albums. Does anyone know why the other Catholics are not turning up, are they just having a well earned break, or is there some other reason??

Sorry, Dave Phillips. He played Gibson SGs all night, when he wasn't on the pedal steel. Frank started "All My Ghosts" in the wrong key, confusing his fellow Catholics. He apologized to them and then cracked "I'm getting to be like Bob Dylan. You guys just need to fuckin' follow me, whatever I do". It was pretty damn funny. I sure hope he comes back through here with the full band in the near future. He actually is kinda like Dylan, we're lucky enough to get about one show a year from them both. I'm going to a Dylan show on Monday night. This has been a very good month for me concert-wise.---Jayhawk |

Ahha, that is too funny! Good catch on that quote Jayhawk! I wish I could be at the Chicago show too. I saw them there in April for back to back shows and it was a pretty cool venue. It also holds a special place in my heart (I'm a girl, remember), because I got to stand inches from Dave P for both shows, and he even gave me his guitar pick, an autograph, and took the time to chat and have someone take a photo of us together after the second show, with his arm around me too. Woo-hoo!!! Ahhh, memories!
