So who else knows "Spoon" and who else will see them today at Amoeba?

I heard their new record, and it's sparse, and the guy sings like all the other new guys who sing, the Strokes and the guy in the Dell commercials.

"If Spoon is the new Pink Floyd, then life is terrible, if they are the new Soundgarden, then life will continue nominally" - Sartre ?

matto,

i was going to see them, but as fate had it, my time ran out.. and now it would be too late for me to get to Hollywood.

i'm thinking of seeing them tomorrow night though.. at our favorite place, the Troubadour.. :)

i have their last album, which i like, but really don't find myself listening to much.. but what i've heard of the new one sounds better.

i think their live act is pretty excellent though.. i saw them in D.C. last year, opening for Guided By Voices, and was muy impressed..

muy..

hope you made it. go tomorrow..

well, let me start by saying:
well, let me start by saying: they were good, good, good. but i don't like them. if i hadn't heard/seen the shins, i would consider spoon a very nice act i'd like to research. instead, i'll do the naive thing and ignore them. hey, i bet i can be a rock critic now!

they are kind of shins-esque aren't they?

yeah, i hear you .. there's something about them that prevents them from being completely GOOD. (i think it's lack of talent).. instead of putting some of those boring songs on the record, why didn't they just make good ones?

(i think i can be a critic too)..
