Has anyone seen Poison during their summer tour this year? I'm going on Friday, and I'd kind of like to prepare for whatever awaits me. Have they been kicking ass, looking and sounding old, cancelling shows? So if you've seen them, please share whatever stories, warnings, advice you may have. Oh, and I don't need the advice of "don't go," I already have the ticket and I'm going to see the crowd as much as the band.

Aw, come on. Like you've never gone to see a band you're not really into.

I think I'd lose sleep if I knew I was supporting those wankers. |

Hey, if you're gonna' go, you might as well enjoy it. And if you're gonna' enjoy it, you might as well go. I wouldn't, but I don't care for them/their music. Personal preference. Doesn't mean you shouldn't, nor that you should feel like you need to justify it to us. |

I've had a personal grudge against Poison ever since the long, insomniac night in which I could not rid myself of their most insidious earworm, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn."
Have fun, though! |

I'm not going to support them, I don't even listen to them. I'm going in large part because I like the idea of seeing all sides of the music world and I wasn't around to see any '80s shows. It could be fun.

I'm not a big fan of Metallica (GASP) but I'd go see them hypothetically if the tickets were cheap/free, and the show was nearby, just 'cause it's Metallica. Sorry to offend any die-hard Metallica fans out there. If I got tickets to Poison dirt cheap, I'd go see 'em.

Go ahead, I deserve it for picking such a stupid name.

Why is that a stupid name? I picked my name to be sort of ambiguous, not really to imply slowness or anything. If I had to do it over again, I might pick a name more fitting to the forum. Anyone use different names for different forums, if you're on more than this one? I'm "glacial906" on all the forums I'm on. (I'm registered on five, but this is the only one I write to anymore.)

Saw Metalicca a couple of months ago in Denmark, not really a fan but they were very good live (not as good as Iron Maiden though, who I saw the night after). Is this the same tour that Skid Row are playing on? Let me know how the Skids were, I used to love them but haven't heard any of their stuff (which I suspect is crap) recently.

Finally someone shows interest and I have to disappoint him...sorry Stuart, I think Skid Row was just for the American leg (I live in Canada). It's actually the last show of the tour, so maybe I'll be able to tell my grandchildren I was at the final Poison concert. It's Vince Neil and someone else opening.......I think it's the Headpins, which I believe is a Canadian band that never got noticed anywhere else and is now washed up.

Would love to see the Neil.... pity about the Row though, although they'd probably be crap. Saw them twice in '96 when the Bach was still with them.... classic.

Yeah, I'm more excited to see Neil than Poison. Hey, want to see how Canadian I am? I can tell you that Bach's brother is Zac Bierk, a professional hockey goalie for the Phoenix Coyotes. Do they tell you that in China? I didn't think so, now allow me to bask in my knowledge! Of course, though, you can laugh at me because you have the new Frank disc already. Sooooooooo, how is it?

Yeah, I knew you were English but that was just a pathetic joke. Anyway, Bach's brother did an excellent job last season, really good numbers. He only really got to play much because the team's best goalie was hurt all year, and he was still sort of the backup. This year it looks like he'll be in the minors.
Oh, and Vince had better play some Crue! One of the guys I'm going with lost his head when he heard about it - Poison and the Crue are his two favourite bands, so I hope for his sake that he pulls it out. They had some stuff I really like as well, so I'd like to hear it myself.

Fairplay Crispy, I'm partial to a bit of stadium rock and the whole cheese that surrounds that type of music. Two years ago a mate and I went on a rock crusade whereby we spent the whole winter seeing any stadium rock band which played the UK. It was fucking great, and one day I'd love to do it again.
I never got to see the Crue, would have loved to though.... with Corabi and with Neil.
