a while ago i searched for frank and pixies mp3s and i found this one thats supposedly frank singing along to "what the world needs now." I'm sure a lot of you have heard it. I assume its fake, or atleast mislabeled since it doesnt sound much like frank, but who knows. was just curious if anyone had heard otherwise. thanks

A year ago when good old napster was still online I was searching to find as much Frank Black stuff as I could and found recordings such as:
Frank Black and Billy Joel Frank Black and Radiohead Frank Black and U2 Frank Black and They Might Br Giants and last but not least.... Frank Black and Phil Collins!
I assume that these are live recordings??? does anyone know anything about them? I just wish that I'd had the time to download them all, although I'd find it weird to hear Frank Black doing a duet with Phil Collins for the song Sussudio. |

the Frank and Radiohead one is probably Radiohead doing "blowout" which supposedly is dedicated to the Pixies. It's an old song from '93 or so. somehow it got mixed into "thom yorke and frank black dueting!" Apparently you didn't come across Frank and Iggy...which i downloaded. It's Frank playing "nightclubbing" by Iggy Pop and occasionally singing over it (playing as in djing the song for a radio station). |

Shit... I was really hoping that these were gonna be real recordings, I couldn't imagine a duet with Frank Black and the Collins... that would be cool. Has frank ever dueted with anyone else other than David Bowie... does anyone know? |

I heard or saw some where that Frank recorded with Stephen Malkmus (formerly of Pavement). Is this true?

That would be cool as Stephen Malkmus is also a genius... but not as much of a genius as Frank Black. I haven't heard anything like that, but I seen to remember that Napster had a Frank Black and Pavement recording... I think. |

Frank singing along with Nightclubbing - I might give an unused appendage to here that. How about Sister Midnight.
Idiot is in my top 20 of all time. |

I reckon it would be cool if Frank did a duet with Men at Work.... the Australian band who were responsible for the timeless classic 'Down Under.' |

The Frank/TMBG thing is probably accurate. I know Frank has sung "Particle Man" for them before, and I believe he jammed with them during "Spy." I think I've seen that credit on some songs that were just songs Frank played when he opened for TMBG, without TMBG actually contributing to them, though. |

I have a live recording of Frank playing Spy with TMBG - it was just after the song was written, or so I was told by the person who gave it to me. This friend also gave me a recording of Frank on the Bowie tribute night singing/playing along to Fashion and Scary Monsters, but you lot will have all this stuff already! |
