I know RS hasn't been the greatest reviewer of Frank's albums, but after reading all the positive press SMYT has been getting, I really think RS is going to get behind it. It's right up their "We've got a hard-on for roots rock and Bob Dylan" alley. So why is there no mention of it in this month's issue which is dated 9/13/03? I can't believe that SpinArt wouldn't have given them a pre-release copy, so what gives? Maybe they liked it so much they're waiting to paint a portrait of him and stick him at the front of next month's reviews section. Perhaps he'll be on the cover!
Yeah right. The Olsen Twins one month and Frank Black the next...
I think Rolling Stone is weekly now...or bi-weekly. Perhaps you missed it. Although I think NOT b/c I have been checking it out (and there was an issue dated 9/8/03 as well) and have seen nothing. Fuckers.
(it's also weird b/c they had that interview with Frank on the RS website a few weeks ago - so what the hell?)
Maybe they like it so much they don't think they can review it adequately, and they're waiting for some superfan to hand them the ultimate Frank Black review. Come on now, someone here wants to do it.
