Yeah, i usually try to listen to a band before i go...one that i hadn't tho was Martin Tielli from the Rheostatics, about four years ago, solo...he kicked ass and hooked me.
Anyone gonna check out his show this Oct? |

| One thing at the MM concert that was embarassing is that Isaac mentioned our 1 last living dolphin at West Edmonton Mall (that's where the concert was). They should just set it free already! |

Good luck getting tickets, they had half a million people enter the draw for the last 1750 four-packs. Two days later, some guy had already sold one (1!) ticket for about $1200. I predict someone will pay ten grand for a ticket before it's all said and done.

Yeah, demand for tickets was too much, so to give everyone an equal chance they held 7000 tix. You had to sign up for a draw through the Journal or the website, as about half a million did, and on the 15th they drew 1750 names; each of these people had the chance to buy four tickets. I entered, somehow didn't get picked. Bummer. Still though, that's an amazing demand. Even now, anyone I talk to from out of the province (uncles, buddies, everyone) is asking me to hook up tickets.....yeah, right.

Didn't they have a baby last year or something? I thought they were saying it just has to get trained and comfortable to start doing shows. Anyway, I think ultimately their plan is to just let them all die off and discontinue the shows.
Funny story here, I've been working shitty temp gigs the last week as I ponder whether or not to go back to my old job, and the other day I worked with a guy who "used to be the shark trainer at West Edmonton Mall." He was telling me this story about when one of the sharks jumped up and bit a kids arm off, so he had to kill it. You know, the story is bullshit enough to begin with, could he not even get the animal right? Ahhhh, good old people.

Aye, dolphins are very social, but it should be recognized that dolphins are also 'wild' animals, and shouldn't be in captivity.
If you were to bring another dolphin in, one would die before the other, and you'd be stuck with the same scenario.
Perhaps the best option would be to move him/her to another location with caged dolphins, who have stated they plan to get no more, and see/hope they'll be social.. |
