I got suckered by the promise of "a historic opening" and watched the start of the MTV awards. Am I the only one tired of seeing MTV prop up Madonna the way they did Michael Jackson long after the public has rendered them irrelivent?
That opening and the kisses was so contrived and tired. I mean, just trying as hard as possible to 'stage' some news. I watched on and off through Good Charlottes performance and Chris Rock nailed it afer they finished with "Good Charlotte? More like mediocre Green Day if you ask me".
Luckily I also caught Jack Black, he should rec'v the 'super genius of the century' award... |

Was it true that Madonna french kissed both Britney and Christina??? If so that proves how desperate all of their careers have got, although if I would have seen such a spectacle would have been permanently stored in the spank banks.

I watched all three fucking dull hours cause my sister was over and she's into that shit. Anyhow, MTV VMA used to be a big thing, but it seems to have gotten MAJORLY tired. Not only because of the music, just everything about it. It used to be a big specticle. My sister enjoys that SHIT music and she even thought it was pretty dull. Did you notice that the SAME TEN VIDEOS were nominated? I swear to god, there weren't more than 10-15 videos featured for the whole fucking show. Gee, I didn't know there were only FIFTEEN SONGS RELEASED IN THE PAST YEAR. It's a fucking disgrace...music is just nothing but a product in the public's eye. It's not about quality or anything, I mean for FUCKS SAKE, there is NOTHING different about Good Charlotte and any other high school punk band other than the way they look. Chris Rock was soooo right when he called them a mediocre Green Day, which was for sure the 2nd highlight of the night. Madonna is by all means completely washed up. She's somehow become a hilariously embarassing facimile of her former self. That song Hollywood? These are ACTUAL LYRICS: "Everybody comes to Hollywood / They wanna make it in the neighborhood / They like the smell of it in Hollywood / How could it hurt you when it looks so good" WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT!?!?!? And yeah, she's so deep, with some lyrics like "Radio plays all the same songs." That really means a lot, you know, to sing that on FUCKING MTV of all things. AND YOUR SONG IS ONE OF THEM! Her kissing Britney tho...man, that was fucking hot. You know your career is two steps from death when you have to rely on a lesbian kiss to remind people that you're still there. God DAMN it just makes me so fucking pissed.

I was also sickened by Madonna trying to rip a page from Elvis' "Radio, Radio". Tired is the best word for it. But WHY does MTV keep propping her up?? They did the same thing with Jacko. |

Cheers Ramona..... seeing that makes my hangover disappear straight away! It's a good sight but it is a cheap shot from two people whose careers have took a downturn. Saying that Madonna has always been doing stuff like that, although not so much in recent years.
What they need to do now is release a steamy sex video with the three of them to give them some extra publicity.... the great thing is that it would probably be released over here on DVD and I'd be able to buy it very cheap..... as that famous quote from Robocop goes 'I'd buy that for a dollar.'

MTV is shite..... I remember the good old days when you'd have Nirvana, Guns N' Roses and other semi decent rock bands playing..... Dave Grohl started giving shit to Axl Rose and Chris Novaselic knocked himself out with his bass guitar (which were publicity stunts all the same, but not so blatant as a lesbo style french kiss).... now it's all corporate shite for the music whores. I guess it has always been the same but less obvious.

I remember the good old days when you could spend an afternoon watching Haircut 100, John Cougar Melonhead, and Toto Coelo before slashing your wrists. MTV's been mostly crap since the outset, except for some of the stuff on 120 Minutes.
I hoped Madonna would ride off into the sunset when she moved to Scotland with her director husband. No such luck, I guess. |

All this outrage seems a little over the top. The kiss looks worse in the photos than it does on TV. When I finally saw the show i couldn't believe it, the kiss was only a split second, blink and you miss it.
Maddona has always been a publicity whore and Britney is hot!. Christina on the other hand, is an entirely different matter, you would need a JCB just to get through that 5 inches on makeup.
I did feel a bit sorry for Missy Elliott, no one wanted to kiss her! |
