That is really cool! You know, Craig Kilborn has been raising on my cool-o-meter lately. He was able to "smoke" out Morrissey for not only an interview, but two songs on his show! It was not only the first time Conan O'Brian wasn't cracking jokes on my TV, but it was the first TV interview Morrissey has done in America. Pretty cool.
Could I stay just for awhile? |

Gotta say I loved the Breeders on Craig Kilborn.
Dunno what network he's on do you?
Being in the UK I think the only chance I'd get is if he was picked up by Sky One...

I don't think it'll be the same deal as Late World...That show was falling apart around the time FB was supposed to appear, and they just ended up showing reruns. I wonder if the FB episode was even filmed. |

I checked the Late Late Show website and the guest list for Sept 27th is still TBA. I've sent an email to get a confirmation from the show. Will let you know what I find out.

So, that would be tonight (given that it's after midnight)? Just making sure.
tv.yahoo.com has Tony Danza; Kelli Williams; musical group New Found Glory on tonight. It has Kevin Sorb on tomorrow night. |

I'm thinking "End of Miles" after listening to the interview from mp3.com and considering they'll be playing in L.A.

hell it was cool. expected no less. glad frank gave hats off to dave, and glad to hear the crowd yell for dave. Nice outfits to craig got the album cold heart of stone was on wrong, but I guess that just had to happen. the reviewers and profesionals always screw something up when it comes to promoting frank. I wonder how many people will go buy devils workshop and wonder where the hell cold heart of stone is? |

my guess was wrong... god, this show sucks...
and it looks like it's just Eric and Frank right?
I mean come one, Craig has no idea who Frank is...
I would have loved an interveiw or something...

Outside of some MTV appearances (Frank was on 120 Minutes, circa Cult of Ray), Frank appeared on the Dennis Miller Show in 1994. |

he's also been on Letterman.. during the Trompe days. They did "Trompe Le Monde" with Paul Schaffer and the rest of the band joining in.

i have trouble believeing that. i mean it may be true but it's hard for me to picture paul's band playing with the pixies (or the pixies being on letterman at all). isn't trompe le monde under 2 minutes too? someone had to have taped this performance, is it on the internet anywhere?
the late show with dave every once in a while will play clips of pixies songs (here comes your man) during funny "skit" things.

i've seen it with my own two eyes brother..
yeah, there's usually a tape floating around on Ebay that has a bunch of Frank's TV appearances.. which might not be a bad purchase, depending on how much you get it for. |

I have that Pixies Letterman performance on video. Got it at a record convention about a year ago. Pretty cool. |

I can't believe I actually missed that Kilborn performance. Funny thing is, approx two weeks before the airing, I tried checking around for possible tv performances, being inspired by my hypothesis that Frank Black's popularity is currently on the rise. I looked on the late late show websites and the Rock on TV website, to no avail. And I had no clue about the newsgroup. So it was yesterday that I first discovered this bbs and read about the now "infamous" first network television appearance in god knows how long. Congrats, Mr. Thompson. (By the way, I have a Pixies video bootleg- live in London June '91- with the Dave Letterman performance at the end. I'm curious to know if circulating copies of that performance commonly exclude the first twenty or so seconds of the song, since mine does.) |

Everyone needs to eat their hearts out in the general direction of the Floopster, who was actually at the damn Killborn show. I'd be interested to hear if Frank or Dave or whoever actually met and could verify that Killborn is as big a prick as he comes across as on TV.
