Wow, someone actually cares who the support is?! My first FB gig, the support didn't show up for some reason; fine by me. The next one, I arrived presumably just after they'd finished (if they played at all). The last one, I unfortunately caught the support act. Bloody awful; some guy singing about his grandad and going to the shops (one of those tedious 'realist' songwriters). Hopefully I'll miss the support at the upcoming gigs at the end of September!
I like the idea of support bands. It's cool to see a band you've never heard of playing live - and I have to admit I've subsequently got into a few unknowns thanks to seeing them this way. To be honest I'm a big fan of live music - even if it's something I wouldn't otherwise like I try to give support acts a chance. I've played as support before now and it's not an easy ride.
