You've told us a couple times how meaningless this board is to you. You imply it's somehow more important to the rest of us, i.e. Leo, yet you seem to spend more time here than he does. That's what was meant, genius. |

listen you mongoloid, i know what you were trying to get at and you are wrong in so many ways that if i tried to go into detail the world would end before i finished. here's a brief overview.
first of all, he was the one saying i was taking things too seriously. i was just saying i don't.
secondly, like i've said three fucking times already, post count has nothing to do with how seriously i take something or how important it is to me.
also this board could have meaning to me outside of what my posts (especially the ones in this thread) have.
in summary: you're an idiot and should shut up now and stop bumping this thread with your drivel.
edit: then there's the fact that my postcount is really, really fucking low for how long i've been on this board compared to a) other posters on this board and b) my postcount on other boards. i hesitated to say this because it seems to imply that your stupidity has some merit, which it doesn't. it's just another way in which you were wrong, even if you had been partially right -- which you aren't. |

And now for something completely different, as you refer to the word mongoloid:
ever heard this song Mongoloid by Devo? Well, you should, it's a classic |

Ebb the very fact that you get so worked up about this and type so much shite shows that you take this INCREDIBLY seriously. It also makes you look like a right jerky little weener.

ok this is the last time i'm replying to your stupid ass.
just because i'm swearing doesn't mean i'm 'worked up', nimrod.
like most people who have worked with computers for a living, i type really fast, so, it really takes no time for me to write these replies.
i do, however, have lots of time to kill, and coming here to read your lame fucking replies and tell you how stupid you are is as good for that as anything else.
'hey you replied with swear words and like half a page of text! obviously you care!'

What's so awful about caring about things? What's so awful about passion? There have been several occasions that I have posted on this forum and cared about what was said. I'm not ashamed that I'm passionate about certain things, and I don't try to hide behind "not caring" when I say something I feel. I'm not implying this is what you're doing Ebb, I'm only commenting on my own feelings. |

there's nothing wrong with it, and i don't know why leo is such a loser that he has nothing better to do than try to tell some fat loser that he cares about a stupid thread.

I'd argue against it. Just for the sake of, you know, arguing against something. Which is the point of this thread isn't it?
Just to reiterate my original point - it's daft giving Axel a hard time just coz he's having a laugh. No harm in having a laugh.

Ive taken to eating Tuna sandwiches at work at the moment as a healthier alternative to McDonalds, the easier alternative downstairs in my building.... the worst thing is that McDonalds is so cheap here, so it is so tempting...
Has anyone heard of the Cardiac Diet, where for one week in a month you eat soup, and then each day have one normal sized meal??? My friend mentionned this to me and said that his mother did it and it worked (and she lost 5kgs in a week), but I have found nothing on the internet about this...

I would stay away from any of those diets where you do one thing for so long and then something else for the rest. You may lose weight (at least over that week), but you're killing yourself. The body reacts so slowly to changes that it'd be much better to substitute soup for one meal a day every day rather than shock it into eating itself for a week and then storing next week's food as fat because the metabolism has been dropped to deal with the lack of substance.
But that's my own personal philosophy... I'm by no means a dietician or an expert, just what I think/have heard. And I can hear the resident vegans approaching even now... |

This was never my intention you dick. I'm just really surprised that this innocent thing has released so much supressed anger and frustrations. Now I know that the sugestion of Frank eventually being a little overweight is nothing to consider. And it wasn't even seriously meant, but your too stupid to see that, and way too stupid to let this thing go. peace |

Diets don't work because they are temporary. Your body gets in some sort of hybernation and absorbes more fat after the diet, in case there might be a next one. It's a survival instinct. You have to change your lifestyle if you want to lose some weight. Start hating those burgers and soda's and start loving them vegetables. But if you feel good with the body you have, don't lose any weight because other people tell you so. It would just make you miserable.

Learn the art of cooking. Once you discorve the taste of good (vegetarian) food you will never eat at mcDo again. You obviously have good taste in music, so you can do it. |

I don't know how you can eat McDonalds - they are able to make food that is incredibly high in calories and yet tastes like shit and bizarrely doesn't fill you up. I need about 2 and a half maccie dees to feel properly full.
The best way to lose weight and feel healthy is to eat loads of vegetables. Stuff like the Atkins diet is not the way to go - yeah you'll lose weight, but that much meat and protein is not good for your body at all - you'd be as well knocking down a couple grams of sulph each day to lose weight.
Vegetables are quite cheap, quick and easy to prepare (you can eat them raw, or make couscous in 2 mins with just boiling water from the kettle, or stick them in the oven and watch teevee while they roast) and way tastier than the pap they sell at McD's.
I wouldn't feed McD's to a dog. It's food that's created using industrial processes for profit, not for nutrition.

I know what it sounds like Leo, but believe me Chinese food is as bad for your weight as McDonalds. Most Chinese food is fried in shitloads of oil, so thats why most westerners pile on the pounds here (it also doesn't help that beer is as cheap as water). I try to avoid eating McD's, and probably only eat one once a week, so its not that bad. I also try and eat Chinese food only once a week, it's delicious but it's also good for making you look pregnant.
I recently bought a blender which I am sure will help me lose a little weight.... Ive been buying carrots, celery, etc etc and blending them together, adding spices and heating the juice up to make good soup. I'm not too bad a cook as well, but I always make too much and eat the amount I cook.... Hmm, I'm not to the point of being too fat, but I need to start thinking about slimming down.
Why can't they invent low calorie beer??

Believe it or not, Chinese food is cheaper than McDonalds, and McDonalds is alot cheaper than back in Britain. And Chinese food beats the shit out of the stuff we get back home, which is why I am starting to have weight issues. China is a fat bastards paradise.... even people who don't usually put on weight easily become fat bastards in China.

It IS difficult weaning one's self from fast food in general. No, it's not the best tasting stuff, but it's a quick fix, and I chose the word "Fix" because its a term from the addict's vernacular and fast food is quite addicting. I'm reading a book called "Fat Land" (which is turning out to be the sequel of "Fast Food Nation") and its indeed scary how addictive crap like Palm Oil and HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup), which are two of the mainstays of Fast food and American Convenience Food -- really are. They're just as subversively addictive as cigarettes. Your brain tells you this stuff is crap, but your other brain drags you there to eat it. So I can sympathize. Maybe knowing that you're being subverted into this addiction might make you angry enough to pass it up.
I am also overweight, but until I have this baby, I really can't/shouldn't do anything about it except eat as well as I can now. I gained way too much weight with my first, and never quite shook it off (probably thinking, well, shit, I'm just gonna get knocked up again!) but given that this will be my last (and I'm taking surgical steps to guarantee that), I will really have no excuse other than to change my eating habits and literally get a move on.
On the whole topic of Frank's weight, I have to honestly believe that those of us who are concerned about it are concerned for the health reasons. I think that we listen to his music, we enjoy it, and for whatever selfish reasons, we want him around for a long long time. As someone who is technically "obese" myself, I know that it's not jsut the appearance. When I'm thinner I feel better. I can do more stuff. I get sick less often. My back doesn't hurt. Not to be obsessed, but I'd wish those nice feelings on anyone. Frank hasn't been overweight his whole life -- and thus we see this and I think we're *concerned*, the way people would be concerned if we saw obvious evidence of some other (possibly life-threatening) diesase like jaundice on somebody whom we admired. when we start prying into the causes of somebody's obesity, that's when it becomes none of our business. Its was indeed heartening to see that he's obviously doing something about it (comparing the time I saw him in '01 to last spring) and as someone who once lost 50 lbs on Weight Watchers, I know how great it feels to have dropped that much weight -- not only visually, but physically I felt like a literal sack of potatoes had been lifted from my back. I hope Frank keeps it up, and honestly, I look to his progress as inspiration for my own.
BTW, I'm sold on Weight Watchers. It's not radical, its common sense, and you learn to eat like a normal person. Highly recommended.

Fast drugs such as amphetamines and crack are an excellent way for the pregnant lady to stay trim until the sprog drops. Well my mum says it didn't do me or my brother Tyson any harm.
Frank doesn't look like an unhealthy fat person. Some fat people (and some not-fat people) look all pasty, untoned and floppy. Frank must be very fit to keep up the work rate and touring regime that he does, particularly as he and the other Catholics have to lug all the gear around. I'm not too concerned about his health - obviously on tour his diet is going to be pretty bad - service station pasties etc - but if his heart was weak or he was unfit or anything he might cut short some of his three and a half hour sets, don't you think?
